Abstract

A system and method for aggregating demand is provided. At least one seller may sponsor a deal room to aggregate selling goods/services from a plurality of buyers. The demand aggregation system can include a dashboard for allowing the at least one seller to set up DealRooms, price curves, offers, products, customers, and/or customer groups, for example. The dashboard can include a plurality of wizards for configuring such information. The demand aggregation system can also include seller displays for notifying buyers of changes in prices relative to ship dates and times of order. The demand aggregation system can also include a predictive modeling and reporting function. An algorithm is employed to utilize product information to post a probability chart on a product price point.

Claims (62)

1. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having embodied thereon instructions executable by a processor to:

receive product registration data from a merchant associated with selling a good or service, the product registration data including:

non-price criterions that define characteristics of the good or service, the non-price criterions including information related to the delivery of the good or service, and

at least one offer criterion that establishes a value of the good or service;

construct an index of offers according to a category of the good or service associated with the product registration data, wherein the index is searchable according to the category or the product registration data; and

receive a search query including:

at least one of the non-price criterions,

a buyer-generated criterion related to a desired good or service, the buyer-generated criterion not provided as a part of the product registration data, and

a quality value associated with the merchant, wherein at least one of the non-price criterions, buyer-generated criterion, or quality value received as part of the search query constitute a range; and

output search results responsive to the search query.

2. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by a processor to store data associated with the buyer-generated criterion.

3. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 2 , wherein the instructions are further executable by a processor to transmit a notification that identifies the buyer-generated criterion to the merchant.

4. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 3 , wherein the instructions are further executable by a processor to receive additional product registration data responsive to the notification.

5. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 3 , wherein the instructions are further executable by a processor to receive updated product registration data responsive to the notification.

6. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 2 , wherein the instructions are further executable by a processor to transmit a notification that identifies the buyer-generated criterion to a third party other than the merchant.

7. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by a processor to construct an inference that relates to at least one of:

the good or service,

a provider of the good or service,

an entity providing the search query, or

a relationship by and between the entity, the provider, or the good or service.

8. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the instructions are further executable by a processor to provide a notification to at least one of the entity, the provider, or a third party as to the construction of the inference.

9. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the index of offers are based upon receipt of product registration data from multiple merchants.

10. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the non-price criterions are selected from a pre-generated list of possible non-price criterions.

11. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the buyer-generated criterion is selected from a pre-existing list of possible criterion.

12. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the buyer generated criterion is free form input of a user.

13. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the output includes a comparison of data included in the search query and data included in the index of offers.

14. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the comparison includes a match between the non-price criterions included in the index and the non-price criterions included in the search query.

15. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the non-price criterions further include geographic location.

16. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the non-price criterions further include selectable options.

17. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the quality value is associated with the reputation of the merchant.

18. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the quality value is expressed as a percentage.

19. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the quality value relates to the level of service offered by the merchant.

20. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the product registration data includes:

a password-enabled or protected account,

merchant information including location,

at least one category related to the product or service offered by the merchant, and

a method of payment associated with the merchant.

21. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 20 , wherein the password-enabled account is accessible by the merchant and permits the merchant to submit an offer to a particular set of buyers.

22. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the offer is submitted in real-time to at least one buyer.

23. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the offer is not presented to at least potential buyer based on an instruction from the merchant.

24. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the at least one potential buyer has provided information that permits a third party to restrict an offer from being presented to the at least one potential buyer.

25. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 20 , wherein the product registration data includes information related to past purchases by buyers.

26. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the product registration data includes at least one act or process of entering information.

27. A system that facilitates the sale of a good or service, the system comprising:

a network communications interface that receives product registration data from a merchant associated with selling a good or service;

a processor; and

a memory that stores the product registration data, the product registration data including non-price criterions that define characteristics of the good or service, the non-price criterions including information related to the delivery of the good or service, and at least one offer criterion that establishes a value of the good or service, the memory further storing instructions executable by the processor to:

construct an index of offers according to a category of the good or service associated with the product registration data, wherein the index is searchable according to the category or the product registration data, and

output results responsive to a search query, the search query including:

at least one of the non-price criterions,

a buyer-generated criterion related to a desired good or service, the buyer-generated criterion not provided as a part of the product registration data, and

a quality value associated with the merchant, wherein at least one of the non-price criterions, buyer-generated criterion, or quality value received a part of the search query constitute a range.

28. A computer-implemented method of facilitating economic transactions, comprising:

receiving product registration data over a network communication interface from a merchant associated with selling a good or service, the product registration data including:

non-price criterions that define characteristics of the good or service, the non-price criterions including information related to the delivery of the good or service, and

at least one offer criterion that establishes a value of the good or service;

constructing an index of offers according to a category of the good or service associated with the product registration data, wherein the index is searchable according to the category or the product registration data;

receiving a search query including:

at least one of the non-price criterions,

a buyer-generated criterion related to a desired good or service, the buyer-generated criterion not provided as a part of the product registration data, and

a quality value associated with the merchant, wherein at least one of the non-price criterions, buyer-generated criterion, or quality value received as part of the search query constitute a range; and

outputting search results responsive to the search query.
