SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING WORK SCHEDULES
Disclosed are new approaches for scheduling workers at remote locations. Work assignments may be organized into shifts associated with one or more workers and one or more recipients. Tasks are associated with the shift and have an updatable status. Shifts may be replicated by cutting and pasting or by specifying a recurrence definition. The tasks associated with a shift may then be replicated. The status of tasks may be updated using a voice telephony system. The status of tasks may also be reported from a computer located on the recipient premise. Text and/or voice comments and the task status may be accessible by managers, clients, and concerned parties from a web portal accessible using a computing device, such as a tablet computer. Methods for automatically associating providers with shifts and verifying eligibility of providers and recipients are also disclosed.
1 . A scheduling system including one or more processors and one or more memory devices operably coupled to the one or more memory devices, the one or more memory devices storing operational and executable data effective to cause the one or more processors to:
receive a recipient definition, the recipient having a location associated therewith;
evaluate the location with respect to a franchise definition;
if the location does not comply with the franchise definition, generate a perceptible output indicating non-compliance; and
if the location does comply with the franchise definition, add the recipient definition to a scheduling database.
2 . The scheduling system of claim 1 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to add the recipient definition to the scheduling database if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
3 . The scheduling system of claim 2 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
receive a shift definition having a start and end time associated therewith and the recipient definition;
if the location does not comply with the franchise definition, generate an invalid shift alert.
4 . The scheduling system of claim 3 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
add the shift definition to the scheduling database.
5 . The scheduling system of claim 4 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
receive one or more tasks; and
associate the one or more tasks with the shift definition, each of the one or more tasks having a status associated therewith.
6 . The scheduling system of claim 5 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
receive, over a voice telephony network, updates to the status of the one or more tasks; and
update the status of the one or more tasks in the scheduling database.
7 . The scheduling system of claim 3 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
transmit notice of the shift definition to a computer system associated with a franchiser if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
8 . The scheduling system of claim 3 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
transmit notice of the shift definition to a computer system associated with a franchisee corresponding to the location.
9 . The scheduling system of claim 1 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
transmit notice of the recipient definition to a computer system associated with a franchiser if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
10 . The scheduling system of claim 1 , wherein the executable and operational data are further effective to cause the one or more processors to:
transmit notice of the recipient definition to a computer system associated with a franchisee corresponding to the location if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
11 . A computer program product, the computer program product being embodied as a non-transitory computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:
receiving a recipient definition, the recipient having a location associated therewith;
evaluating the location with respect to a franchise definition;
if the location does not comply with the franchise definition, generating a perceptible output indicating non-compliance; and
if the location does comply with the franchise definition, adding the recipient definition to a scheduling database.
12 . The computer program product 11 , further comprising computer instructions for adding the recipient definition to the scheduling database if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
13 . The computer program product of claim 12 , further comprising computer instructions for:
receiving a shift definition having a start and end time associated therewith and the recipient definition;
if the location does not comply with the franchise definition, generating an invalid shift alert.
14 . The computer program product of claim 13 , further comprising computer instructions for:
adding the shift definition to the scheduling database.
15 . The computer program product of claim 14 , further comprising computer instructions for:
receiving one or more tasks; and
associating the one or more tasks with the shift definition, each of the one or more tasks having a status associated therewith.
16 . The computer program product of claim 15 , further comprising computer instructions for:
receive, over a voice telephony network, updates to the status of the one or more tasks; and
update the status of the one or more tasks in the scheduling database.
17 . The computer program product of claim 13 , further comprising computer instructions for:
transmitting notice of the shift definition to a computer system associated with a franchiser if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
18 . The computer program product of claim 13 , further comprising computer instructions for:
transmitting notice of the shift definition to a computer system associated with a franchisee corresponding to the location.
19 . The computer program product of claim 11 , further comprising computer instructions for:
transmitting notice of the recipient definition to a computer system associated with a franchiser if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
20 . The computer program product of claim 11 , further comprising computer instructions for:
transmitting notice of the recipient definition to a computer system associated with a franchisee corresponding to the location if the location does not comply with the franchise definition.
