Phenoxy-pyrrolidine derivative and its use and compositions
View Patent ↗The present invention is directed to the compound 2-(4-(hydroxymethyl)phenoxy)-1-(3-(2-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)pyrrolidin-1-yl)ethanone, its use as an inhibitor of stearoyl CoA desaturase and to pharmaceutical compositions containing this compound.
1. A method of increasing energy expenditure in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a compound of Formula I
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate or hydrate thereof, in an amount effective to increase the subject's energy expenditure.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is a human.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound is administered topically, orally or parenterally.
4. A method of treating diabetes or increasing insulin sensitivity in subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject a compound of Formula I
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate or hydrate thereof, in an amount effective to treat the subject's diabetes or increase the subject's insulin sensitivity.
5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the subject is a human.
6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the compound is administered topically, orally or parenterally.
7. A method of treating cancer in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject a compound of Formula I
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate or hydrate thereof, in an amount effective to treat the subject's cancer.
8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the subject is a human.
9. The method of claim 7 , wherein the compound is administered topically, orally or parenterally.
10. A method of reducing the size and number of sebaceous glands in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a compound of Formula I
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate or hydrate thereof, in an amount effective to reduce the size and number of the subject's sebaceous glands.
11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the subject is a human.
12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the compound is administered topically, orally or parenterally.
13. A method of treating Propionibacterium acnes growth by reducing sebum production and secretion in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject a compound of Formula I
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate or hydrate thereof, in an amount effective to treat Propionibacterium acnes growth by reducing the subject's sebum production and secretion.
14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the subject is a human.
15. The method of claim 13 , wherein the compound is administered topically, orally or parenterally.
