Abstract

A component imaging unit of an electronic component mounting apparatus has three area cameras, and each of visual fields are common to each other regardless of the area cameras. When the imaging form of the component imaging unit is set to a first mode, a component recognition unit recognizes the electronic components held by the holding unit, based on an image imaged by one area camera. Meanwhile, when the imaging form is set to a second mode, in the component imaging unit, the component recognition unit recognizes the electronic component held by the holding unit, based on each of images, each of which is imaged by three area cameras.

Claims (24)

1. An electronic component mounting apparatus, comprising:

a component supply unit configured to supply an electronic component;

a holding unit configured to hold the electronic component supplied from the component supply unit;

a movement mechanism unit configured to move the holding unit;

a component imaging unit configured to image the electronic component that is held by the holding unit;

a control unit configured to control an imaging form of the electronic component by the component imaging unit; and

a component recognition unit configured to recognize the electronic component based on an image that is imaged by the component imaging unit,

wherein the component imaging unit has at least three area cameras, each of which comprises a first imaging element and a second imaging element which are independent devices having different visual fields, visual fields of the first imaging elements of the at least three area cameras are common to each other regardless of the area camera, and visual fields of the second imaging elements of the at least three area cameras are common to each other regardless of the area camera,

the control unit sets the imaging form of the component imaging unit to a first imaging mode or a second imaging mode for each electronic component or each electronic component group held by the holding unit,

when the imaging form is set to the first imaging mode, the component recognition unit recognizes a first electronic component that is held by the holding unit based on an image imaged by the first imaging element included in one of the at least three area cameras, and the component recognition unit also recognizes a second electronic component that is held by the holding unit together with the first electronic component based on an image imaged by the second imaging element of the one of the at least three area cameras which has performed imaging, and

when the imaging form is set to the second imaging mode, the component recognition unit recognizes an electronic component that is held by the holding unit based on an image obtained by combining images imaged by the first imaging elements of the at least three area cameras and images imaged by the second imaging elements of the at least three area cameras.

2. The electronic component mounting apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the control unit sets the imaging form of the component imaging unit to the first imaging mode or the second imaging mode, depending on the kind of the electronic component that is held by the holding unit.

3. An electronic component mounting method performed by an electronic component mounting apparatus comprising:

a component supply unit configured to supply an electronic component;

a holding unit configured to hold the electronic component supplied from the component supply unit;

a movement mechanism unit configured to move the holding unit;

a component imaging unit configured to image the electronic component that is held by the holding unit;

a control unit configured to control an imaging form of the electronic component due to the component imaging unit; and

a component recognition unit configured to recognize the electronic component based on an image that is imaged by the component imaging unit, the component imaging unit having at least three area cameras, each of which comprises a first imaging element and a second imaging element which are independent devices having different visual fields, visual fields of the first imaging elements of the at least three area cameras being common to each other regardless of the area camera, and visual fields of the second imaging elements of the at least three area cameras being common to each other regardless of the area camera,

said electronic component mounting method comprising:

setting, by the control unit, the imaging form of the component imaging unit to a first imaging mode or a second imaging mode for each electronic component or each electronic component group held by the holding unit,

recognizing, when the imaging form is set to the first imaging mode, by the component recognition unit, a first electronic component that is held by the holding unit based on an image imaged by the first imaging element included in one of the at least three area cameras, and a second electronic component that is held by the holding unit together with the first electronic component based on an image imaged by the second imaging element of the one of the at least three area cameras which has performed imaging, and

recognizing, when the imaging form is set to the second imaging mode, by the component recognition unit, an electronic component that is held by the holding unit, based on an image obtained by combining images imaged by the first imaging elements of the at least three area cameras and images imaged by the second imaging elements of the at least three area cameras.
