Abstract

A system for targeted delivery of advertising including the steps of: (a) receiving a navigation request from a mobile communication facility; (b) receiving an indicator input comprising (i) a geographical location in which the user is situated and (ii) queries or accesses to content associated with a plurality of other mobile communication facilities within the geographical location; (c) receiving a business rule; (d) receiving rendering capability data corresponding to a rendering capability of the mobile communication facility; (e) dynamically creating an advertisement based at least in part on the navigation request, the indicator input, the business rule, and the rendering capability data; and (f) transmitting the advertisement to the mobile communication facility for display thereon.

Claims (20)

1. A system for targeted delivery of advertising on a plurality of mobile communication facilities, the system comprising one or more computers having computer readable mediums having stored thereon instructions which, when executed by one or more processors of the one or more computers, causes the system to perform the steps of:

(a) receiving a navigation request from a mobile communication facility, wherein the navigation request comprises an action by a user with the mobile communication facility, wherein the action is a search request;

(b) receiving an indicator input, wherein the indicator input comprises data corresponding to (i) a geographical location in which the user is situated and (ii) queries or accesses to content associated with a plurality of other mobile communication facilities within the geographical location, wherein the queries or accesses to content are contextually similar to the search request, wherein the queries or accesses to content have been increasing in frequency prior to receipt of the navigation request;

(c) receiving a business rule, wherein the business rule contains at least one instruction that when applied to a creation of an advertisement for presentation to the user restricts the content of the advertisement to a content that would not have been created but for application of the instruction, wherein the instruction relates to at least one of:

(i) selection of age appropriate content in view of the age of the user;

(ii) selection of non-violent content in view of an act of national violence, a national emergency, a death of a prominent figure, or a day of mourning having contemporaneously occurred at the time of creation of the advertisement; and

(iii) selection of content that is not contextually linked to a tragic event having contemporaneously occurred at the time of creation of the advertisement;

(d) receiving rendering capability data corresponding to a rendering capability of the mobile communication facility, wherein the rendering capability corresponds to a make or model of the mobile communication facility;

(e) dynamically creating the advertisement based at least in part on the navigation request, the indicator input, the business rule, and the rendering capability data, wherein the advertisement is compatible with the rendering capability of the mobile communication facility; and

(f) transmitting the advertisement to the mobile communication facility for display thereon.

2. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions which, when executed by one or more processors of one or more computers, causes the one or more processors to target delivery of advertising on a plurality of mobile communication facilities by performing the steps of:

(a) receiving a navigation request from a mobile communication facility, wherein the navigation request comprises an action by a user with the mobile communication facility, wherein the action is a search request;

(b) receiving an indicator input, wherein the indicator input comprises data corresponding to (i) a geographical location in which the user is situated and (ii) queries or accesses to content associated with a plurality of other mobile communication facilities within the geographical location, wherein the queries or accesses to content are contextually similar to the search request, wherein the queries or accesses to content have been increasing in frequency prior to receipt of the navigation request;

(c) receiving a business rule, wherein the business rule contains at least one instruction that when applied to a creation of an advertisement for presentation to the user restricts the content of the advertisement to a content that would not have been created but for application of the instruction, wherein the instruction relates to at least one of:

(i) selection of age appropriate content in view of the age of the user;

(ii) selection of non-violent content in view of an act of national violence, a national emergency, a death of a prominent figure, or a day of mourning having contemporaneously occurred at the time of creation of the advertisement; and

(iii) selection of content that is not contextually linked to a tragic event having contemporaneously occurred at the time of creation of the advertisement;

(d) receiving rendering capability data corresponding to a rendering capability of the mobile communication facility, wherein the rendering capability corresponds to a make or model of the mobile communication facility;
