Abstract

A flexible display apparatus is provided. The flexible display apparatus includes a display configured to display content on a screen, a sensor configured to detect bending of the display from a first form to a second form, and a controller configured to reconstruct the content based on the bending and to display the reconstructed content in a first screen generated in one region of the display when it is determined that the display is restored to the first form.

Claims (25)

1. A flexible display apparatus, the apparatus comprising:

a display configured to display a screen including content to be edited and an editing condition to edit the content, selectable by the user;

a sensor configured to detect bending of the display from a first form to a second form; and

a controller configured to display the content edited according to the editing condition selected by the user in a first region of the screen in response to a restoration of the display to the first form.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the one region of the screen is one of a plurality of regions divided by a bending line generated based on the bending.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first form is a state in which the display is flat, and the second form is a state in which a partial region of the display is bent.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller displays the content according to the editing condition in an entire screen.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller displays related content or main content corresponding to the content in a second region generated in a remaining region of the screen based on the bending, and

wherein the content includes at one or more of an application execution screen, a web page, an image, text, a moving image, a widget screen, a menu screen, and an icon.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller generates and displays a third region on the one region of the first region when the bending of the first region is detected.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller generates and displays the first region on the one region of the screen to correspond to a preset bending structure when the bending is detected and the flexible display apparatus is combined with a display accessory having the preset bending structure.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a storage unit configured to store User Interface (UI) screen information corresponding to a size of the first region that is generated based on the bending,

wherein the controller reconstructs the content displayed in the first region based on the UI screen information corresponding to the size of the first region.

9. A method of controlling a flexible display apparatus, the method comprising:

displaying a screen including content to be edited and an editing condition to edit the content, selectable by a user;

detecting bending of the display from a first form to a second form; and

displaying the content edited according to the editing condition selected by the user in a first region of the screen in response to a restoration of the display to the first form.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the one region of the screen is one of a plurality of regions divided by a bending line generated based on the bending.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the first form is a state in which the display is flat, and the second form is a state in which a partial region of the display is bent.

12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the reconstructing and the displaying of the content includes displaying the content according to the editing condition in the entire screen.

13. The method of claim 9 , wherein the reconstructing and the displaying of the content includes displaying related content or main content corresponding to the content in a second region generated in a remaining region of the screen based on the bending, and

wherein the content includes one or more of an application execution screen, a web page, an image, text, a moving image, a widget screen, a menu screen, and an icon.

14. The method of claim 9 , further comprising generating and displaying a third region on the one region of the first region when the bending of the first region is detected.

15. The method of claim 9 , wherein the reconstructing and the displaying of the content includes generating and displaying the first region on the one region of the screen to correspond to a preset bending structure when the bending is detected and the flexible display apparatus is combined with a display accessory having the preset bending structure.

16. The method of claim 9 , wherein the reconstructing and the displaying of the content includes reconstructing the content displayed in the first region based on User Interface (UI) screen information corresponding to a size of the first region.
