Abstract

Provided is a radio communication device including a radio communication section that communicates by radio with a base station, a storage section that stores information indicating two or more intervals, and a receipt control section that switches, among the two or more intervals, a receiving cycle for receiving a paging channel sent from the base station in an unconnected state with the base station.

Claims (62)

1. A radio communication device, comprising:

circuitry configured to:

communicate by radio with a base station;

store information indicating a plurity of intervals to receive a paging channel and store a switching time, wherein the switching time corresponds to a first receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel and a second receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel; and

switch receiving cycles from the first receiving cycle to the second receiving cycle based on the stored switching time at the switching time,

wherein the first receiving cycle is shorter in duration than the second receiving cycle.

2. The radio communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the circuitry is configured to switch among the first receiving cycle and the second receiving cycle corresponding to the switching time in accordance with a predetermined order.

3. The radio communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the switching time is notified from the base station.

4. A base station, comprising:

circuitry configured to:

communicate by radio with a radio communication device;

store information indicating a plurality of intervals to transmit a paging channel and store a switching time, wherein the switching time corresponds to a first cycle of transmitting the paging channel and a second cycle of transmitting the paging channel; and

switch transmitting cycles from the first cycle of transmitting the paging channel to the second cycle of transmitting the paging channel based on the stored switching time at the switching time,

wherein the first cycle is shorter in duration than the second cycle.

5. A radio communication device, comprising:

circuitry configured to:

communicate by radio with a base station;

detect a state change of the radio communication device; and

switch receiving cycles from a first receiving cycle, for receiving a paging channel, to a second receiving cycle, for receiving the paging channel, at a stored switching time according to a detection of the state change,

wherein the stored switching time corresponds to the first receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel and the second receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel,

wherein the first receiving cycle is shorter in duration than the second receiving cycle.

6. The radio communication device according to claim 5 ,

wherein the circuitry is configured to receive information defining the first receiving cycle and the second receiving cycle from the base station, and

wherein the circuitry is configured to store the received information defining the first receiving cycle and the second receiving cycle.

7. The radio communication device according to claim 6 ,

wherein the circuitry is configured to switch from the first receiving cycle to the second receiving cycle at the switching time in an unconnected state with the base station.

8. The radio communication device according to claim 7 ,

wherein the circuitry is configured to detect a movement of the radio communication device as the state change.

9. The radio communication device according to claim 8 ,

wherein the circuitry is configured to detect that the radio communication device has moved to a predetermined location as the state change.

10. The radio communication device according to claim 7 ,

wherein the circuitry is configured to detect a reduction in remaining power of the radio communication device as the state change.

11. The radio communication device according to claim 7 ,

wherein the radio communication device has a vending machine function of selling a product, and

wherein the circuitry is configured to detect a change in sales by the vending machine function or a reduction in a stock of the product as the state change.

12. A method for radio communication, the method comprising:

detecting a state change in a radio communication device; and

switching receiving cycles from a first receiving cycle, for receiving a paging channel, to a second receiving cycle, for receiving the paging channel, at a stored switching time according to a detection of the state change,

wherein the stored switching time corresponds to the first receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel and the second receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel,

wherein the first receiving cycle is shorter in duration than the second receiving cycle.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer-readable instructions thereon, which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform a method comprising:

detecting a state change of a radio communication device; and

switching receiving cycles from a first receiving cycle, for receiving a paging channel, to a second receiving cycle, for receiving the paging channel, at a stored switching time according to a detection of the state change,

wherein the stored switching time corresponds to the first receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel and the second receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel,

wherein the first receiving cycle is shorter in duration than the second receiving cycle.

14. A base station, comprising:

circuitry configured to:

communicate by radio with a radio communication device; and

switch transmitting cycles from a first cycle of transmitting a paging channel to a second cycle of transmitting the paging channel based on a stored switching time,

wherein the stored switching time corresponds to the first transmitting cycle of transmitting the paging channel and the second transmitting cycle of transmitting the paging channel,

wherein the first cycle is shorter in duration than the second cycle.

15. A radio communication system, comprising:

a radio communication device; and

a base station configured to send a paging channel in accordance with a first receiving cycle of the radio communication device and a second receiving cycle of the radio communication device,

wherein the radio communication device includes:

circuitry configured to:

detect a state change of the radio communication device, and

switch receiving cycles from the first receiving cycle, for receiving a paging channel, to the second receiving cycle, for receiving the paging channel, at a stored switching time according to a detection of the state change,

wherein the stored switching time corresponds to the first receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel and the second receiving cycle for receiving the paging channel,

wherein the first receiving cycle is shorter in duration than the second receiving cycle.
