Scroll compressor having a back pressure control valve for opening and closing a communication path in a stationary scroll
View Patent ↗A scroll compressor includes a crankshaft, a suction chamber, a back pressure chamber, a communication path, a back pressure control means, and a base plate. The base plate intermittently connects the communication path by opening and closing an opening on a back pressure chamber side of the communication path. The crankshaft drives an orbiting scroll, and mutually engages a stationary scroll having a whirlpool shape and the orbiting scroll.
1. A scroll compressor comprising:
a crankshaft to mutually engage a stationary scroll having a whirlpool shape and an orbiting scroll, the crankshaft driving the orbiting scroll;
a suction chamber and a compression chamber formed between the orbiting scroll and the stationary scroll by orbital motion of the orbiting scroll accompanying a rotation of the crankshaft;
a back pressure chamber included on a back surface of the orbiting scroll to apply a pressing force that presses the stationary scroll against the orbiting scroll by a pressure that is higher than a suction chamber pressure;
a communication path formed in the stationary scroll that connects the suction chamber or the compression chamber and the back pressure chamber; and
a back pressure control means for opening and closing the communication path by way of a pressure differential along the communication path, wherein
an inlet communication path extending from the back pressure control means to the back pressure chamber includes at least two or more path cross-sectional areas,
a cross-sectional area of the inlet communication path on a back pressure chamber side on the inlet communication path is larger than a cross-sectional area of an inlet communication path on a back pressure control means side,
the scroll compressor is configured so that an opening surface area of the back pressure chamber side of the inlet communication path on the back pressure chamber side is always equal to or smaller than the cross-sectional area of the inlet communication path on the back pressure control means side, and
a base plate of the orbiting scroll always blocks part of a back pressure chamber side opening of the inlet communication path on the back pressure chamber side.
2. The scroll compressor according to claim 1 , wherein
a groove extending to an outer circumferential side is formed in part of the back pressure chamber side opening of the inlet communication path on the back pressure chamber side, with the groove blocked by the base plate of the orbiting scroll so that an edge of the groove is open to the back pressure chamber side; and
an opening surface area of the groove is always equal to or smaller than the cross-sectional area of the inlet communication path on the back pressure control means side.
3. The scroll compressor according to claim 1 , wherein a groove connecting the back pressure chamber side opening of the inlet communication path on the back pressure chamber side with the back pressure chamber is formed on the base plate of the orbiting scroll, so that an opening surface area of the groove is equal to or smaller than the cross-sectional area of the inlet communication path on the back pressure control means side.
4. The scroll compressor according to claim 1 , wherein a hole connecting the back pressure chamber side opening of the inlet communication path on the back pressure side with the back pressure chamber is formed on the base plate of the orbiting scroll, so that a surface area of the hole is equal to or smaller than the cross-sectional area of the inlet communication path on the back pressure control means side.
5. A scroll compressor comprising:
a crankshaft to mutually engage a stationary scroll having a whirlpool shape and an orbiting scroll, the crankshaft driving the orbiting scroll;
a suction chamber and a compression chamber formed between the orbiting scroll and stationary scroll by orbital motion of the orbiting scroll accompanying a rotation of the crankshaft;
a back pressure chamber on a back surface of the orbiting scroll to apply a pressing force that presses the stationary scroll against the orbiting scroll by a pressure that is higher than a suction chamber pressure;
a communication path formed in the stationary scroll that connects the suction chamber or the compression chamber and the back pressure chamber;
a back pressure control means for opening and closing the communication path by way of a pressure differential along the communication path,
a base plate of the orbiting scroll that intermittently connects the communication path by opening and closing an opening on a back pressure chamber side of the communication path, wherein
an inlet communication path extending from the back pressure control means to the back pressure chamber includes at least two or more path cross-sectional areas,
a cross-sectional area of the inlet communication path on a back pressure chamber side on the inlet communication path is larger than a cross-sectional area of an inlet communication path on a back pressure control means side, and
along with the base plate of the orbiting scroll blocking part of the opening, even when a back pressure chamber side opening of the inlet communication path on a back pressure side is in a maximum opened state, a surface area of an opening on the back pressure chamber side of the communication path on the back pressure chamber side is configured so as to be equal to or smaller than the cross-sectional area of the inlet communication path on the back pressure control means side.
