Two-way shape memory vascular treatment systems
Vascular treatment and methods include a plurality of self-expanding bulbs and a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Joints between woven structures and hypotubes include solder. Woven structures include patterns of radiopaque filaments measureable under x-ray. Structures are heat treated to include at least shapes at different temperatures. A catheter includes a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Heat treating systems include a detachable flange. Laser cutting systems include a fluid flow system.
1. A device for treating a vessel, the device comprising:
a plurality of wires woven to form a textile structure, the textile structure comprising:
a first shape at a first temperature,
wherein the first shape comprises a spiral and the first temperature is less than about 25° C.,
a second shape at a second temperature higher than the first temperature,
wherein the second shape comprises a plurality of bulbs,
the second shape different than the first shape, and
a third shape comprising stress-induced martensite,
the third shape different than the first shape and the second shape,
wherein the textile structure is configured to self-expand from the third shape to the second shape upon deployment from a sheath, and
wherein the textile structure is configured to transform from the second shape to the first shape upon exposure to the first temperature or lower.
2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the third shape comprises a cylindrical shape and wherein the stress-induced martensite is induced by inner sidewalls of the sheath.
3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of bulbs comprises at least three bulbs.
4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first temperature is less than about 18° C.
5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the second temperature is at least about 25° C.
6. The device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of bulbs comprises five to twenty bulbs.
7. The device of claim 1 , wherein the textile structure is completely hollow.
8. The device of claim 1 , wherein the textile structure comprises a free distal end.
9. A device for treating a vessel, the device comprising:
a plurality of wires woven to form a textile structure, the textile structure comprising:
a first shape at a first temperature,
the first shape comprising a spiral,
a second shape at a second temperature higher than the first temperature,
the second shape comprising a cylindrical shape,
the second shape different than the first shape, and
a third shape at a third temperature higher than the second temperature,
the third shape comprising a plurality of bulbs,
the third shape different than the first shape and the second shape,
wherein the textile structure is configured to transform from the second shape to the first shape upon exposure to the first temperature or lower, and
wherein the textile structure is configured to transform from the second shape to the third shape upon at least one of: exposure to the third temperature or higher and deployment from a sheath.
10. The device of claim 9 , wherein the first temperature is less than about 25° C.
11. The device of claim 9 , wherein the second temperature is between about 25° C. and about 37° C.
12. The device of claim 9 , wherein the third temperature is at least about 37° C.
13. The device of claim 9 , wherein the first temperature is less than about 18° C.
14. The device of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of bulbs comprises at least three bulbs.
15. The device of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of bulbs comprises five to twenty bulbs.
16. The device of claim 9 , wherein the textile structure is completely hollow.
17. The device of claim 9 , wherein the textile structure comprises a free distal end.
18. The device of claim 9 , wherein at least one bulb of the plurality of bulbs has a spherical shape and wherein a first bulb of the plurality of bulbs has a smaller diameter than a second bulb of the plurality of bulbs.
