Abstract

An image editing device of the present invention replaces part of a first image that has been subjected to lossy compression with a second image, and comprises a image quality adjustment section for carrying out image quality conversion processing that is the same as image quality variation arising due to the lossy compression, and an editing section for carrying out editing processing using the second image that has been adjusted by the image quality adjustment section.

Claims (33)

1. An image editing device, for editing a combined photographic image formed by combining a plurality of images, comprises:

a first image designation section for designating a single image from a plurality of images that make up the combined image;

a second image designation section for designating a replacement image for replacing the image that has been designated by the first image designation section;

an image compression processing section for subjecting an image to lossy compression with quantization table values that represent the combined image;

an image quality adjustment section for carrying out image quality adjustment processing, that is the same as image degradation occurring as a result of the lossy compression, on the replacement image;

a storage section for storing the image and the quantization table values; and

a control section for subjecting the replacement image that has been designated by the second image designation section to lossy compression with the quantization table values in the image quality adjustment section, and replacing with an image that has been designated by the first image designation section after expansion.

2. The image editing device of claim 1 , wherein

the image quality adjustment section carries out low pass filter processing.

3. The image editing device of claim 1 , further comprising:

an imaging section for repeatedly imaging a field of view, wherein

the replacement image is an image that was repeatedly formed by the imaging section.

4. An image editing method for editing a combined photographic image formed by combining a plurality of images, comprising:

designating a single image from a plurality of images that make up the combined image;

designating a replacement image for replacing the designated image;

subjecting an image to lossy compression with quantization table values that represent the combined image;

carrying out image quality adjustment processing, that is the same as image degradation occurring as a result of the lossy compression, on the replacement image;

storing the image and the quantization table values; and

subjecting the designated replacement image to lossy compression with the quantization table values, and replacing with a single image from the plurality of images that make up the combined image that has been designated after expansion.

5. A non-transitory storage medium for storing a program for execution on a computer of an image editing device for editing a combined photographic image formed by combining a plurality of images, comprising:

designating a single image from a plurality of images that make up the combined image;

designating a replacement image for replacing the designated image;

subjecting an image to lossy compression with quantization table values that represent the combined image;

carrying out image quality adjustment processing, that is the same as image degradation occurring as a result of the lossy compression, on the replacement image;

storing the image and the quantization table values; and

subjecting the designated replacement image to lossy compression with the quantization table values, and replacing with a single image from the plurality of images that make up the combined image that has been designated after expansion.

6. An image editing device, for editing a combined photographic image formed by combining a plurality of images, comprises:

a first image designation control that designates a single image from a plurality of images that make up the combined image;

a second image designation control that designates a replacement image for replacing the image that has been designated by the first image designation control;

an image compression processor that subjects an image to lossy compression with quantization table values that represent the combined image;

an image quality adjustment processor that carries out image quality adjustment processing, that is the same as image degradation occurring as a result of the lossy compression, on the replacement image;

a memory that stores the image and the quantization table values; and

a control processor that subjects the replacement image that has been designated by the second image designation control to lossy compression with the quantization table values in the image quality adjustment processor, and replaces with an image that has been designated by the first image designation control after expansion.
