Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer-readable mediums, consistent with principles of some embodiments of the present invention provide for applying a user interface to an electronic device including storing information relating to a user of an electronic device, wherein the stored information includes user information data and user history data, storing a template user interface, modifying the user interface based on the stored user information and the user history data, and applying the modified user interface to the electronic device, wherein the user interface enables a user to instruct the electronic device to perform operations within a shopping establishment.

Claims (20)

1. An apparatus for applying a user interface to an electronic device, the apparatus comprising:

a memory storing a set of instructions; and

a processor executing the set of instructions stored in memory to perform a method of applying a user interface to an electronic device, the method comprising:

retrieving, from a mobile device of a user, user information relating to the user;

storing the user information in the electronic device that is attached to a shopping cart

of a shopping environment, wherein the stored user information includes user data and shopping history data;

tracking a present location of the electronic device;

storing a template user interface;

receiving a scanned bar code identifying an item;

if said present location is different from a stored location of said item stored in an entry in a data table then setting said entry as inactive and creating a new entry in said data table storing said present location as a new location for said item;

modifying the template user interface by selecting a dynamic user interface component;

modifying the dynamic user interface component based on the stored user information; and

applying the modified template user interface to the electronic device for displaying location-dependent content,

if the electronic device is charging or has sufficient power for downloading updates to the location-dependent content, then: generating a message advising an application server that the electronic device is ready to download the content, receiving a response from the application server containing a public key, retrieving a private key from the electronic device, sending a request with the private key for the updated content, and receiving the updated content;

wherein the location-dependent content is displayed based on the present location of the electronic device being within a predetermined distance of at least one selected from a group consisting of a computing device and a product in the shopping environment.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the location-dependent content advertisement further comprises a static component.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the location-dependent content is selected based on the stored user information.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the location-dependent content is included in a weekly flyer generated based on the stored user information.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the shopping history data comprises a list of most frequently purchased items, and the location-dependent content is for one or more items on the list of most frequently purchased items.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the method of applying the user interface to the electronic device further comprises determining how many customers scanned the product advertised in the location-dependent content, and optionally modifying the location-dependent content.
