Abstract

Provided are azeotrope-like compositions comprising heptafluoropropane and trifluoroiodomethane and uses thereof, including use in refrigerant compositions, refrigeration systems, blowing agents, fire suppressant compositions, and aerosol propellants.

Claims (10)

1. An azeotrope-like composition which consists of from about 50 to less than 100 weight percent of HFC-125, and from greater than zero to about 50 weight percent CF 3 I, said composition having a boiling point of about −48±1° C. at a pressure of about 14.5 psia.

2. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 99.34 weight percent HFC-125 and 0.66 weight percent CF 3 I.

3. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 97.91 weight percent HFC-125 and 2.09 weight percent CF 3 I.

4. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 90.51 weight percent HFC-125 and 9.49 weight percent CF 3 I.

5. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 80.72 weight percent HFC-125 and 19.28 weight percent CF 3 I.

6. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 74.31 weight percent HFC-125 and 25.69 weight percent CF 3 I.

7. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 71.13 weight percent HFC-125 and 28.87 weight percent CF 3 I.

8. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 62.29 weight percent HFC-125 and 37.71 weight percent CF 3 I.

9. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 53.98 weight percent HFC-125 and 46.02 weight percent CF 3 I.

10. The azeotrope-like composition of claim 1 consisting of 52.11 weight percent HFC-125 and 47.89 weight percent CF 3 I.
