Benzazole derivatives, compositions, and methods of use as beta-secretase inhibitors
View Patent ↗The present invention is directed to benzazole compounds that inhibit β-site amyloid precursor protein-cleaving enzyme (BACE) and that may be useful in the treatment or prevention of diseases in which BACE is involved, such as Alzheimer's disease. The invention is also directed to pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds and the use of these compounds and compositions in the prevention or treatment of such diseases in which BACE is involved.
1. A method of inhibiting in a subject the interaction of beta-secretase 1 with amyloid precursor protein comprising administering to the subject a compound, wherein the compound is Isoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid [7-(1H-imidazol-2-ylcarbamoyl)-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl]-amide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound is administered in an amount of 0.01 mg/kg to 100 mg/kg of body weight of the subject.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound is administered in an amount of 5 mg to 500 mg.
