Abstract

An electronic device according to an embodiment includes: a touch sensitive display unit configured to display one or more pages of a document thereon; and a controller configured for cooperating with the touch sensitive display unit to: receive a touch input applied to the touch sensitive display unit when the one or more pages of a document are displayed on the touch sensitive display unit; display information including a page number of the document on the touch sensitive display unit in response to the touch input; detect a proximity touch input starting from a point of the touch input to another point spaced from the touch sensitive display unit; and determine new information to be changed from the displayed information, based on a position of the another point.

Claims (36)

1 . An electronic device, comprising:

a touch sensitive display unit configured to display one or more pages of a document thereon; and

a controller configured for cooperating with the touch sensitive display unit to:

receive a touch input applied to the touch sensitive display unit when said one or more pages of a document are displayed on the touch sensitive display unit;

display information including a page number of the document on the touch sensitive display unit in response to the touch input;

detect a proximity touch input starting from a point of the touch input to another point spaced from the touch sensitive display unit; and

determine new information to be changed from the displayed information, based on a position of said another point.

2 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured for cooperating with the touch sensitive display unit to:

change the displayed information to new information in response to the proximity touch input, wherein information displayed on the touch sensitive display unit is changed according to a progress of the proximity touch input between the point and said another point; and

replace said one or more pages displayed on the touch sensitive display unit with at least a page of the document related to said new information.

3 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said one or more pages displayed on the touch sensitive display unit is replaced with said at least a page of the document when the proximity touch input is changed to a contact touch input applied to the touch sensitive display unit.

4 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 2 , wherein a change speed of the displayed information is set differently according to a height of the proximity touch input from the touch sensitive display unit.

5 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured for cooperating with the touch sensitive display unit to:

display, on the touch sensitive display unit, said one or more pages of the document without the new information when said another point is located out of a predetermined range.

6 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a graphical image, to which the touch input is applied, is located at a bottom of the touch sensitive display unit.

7 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the new information includes another page number of the document.

8 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the displayed information further includes a position indicator indicating a position related to said another page number among an entire volume of the document.

9 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the new information further includes at least a word as well as said another page number.

10 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each of the displayed information and said new information is displayed within said one or more pages.

11 . An electronic device, comprising:

a touch sensitive display unit; and

a controller coupled to the touch sensitive display unit and configured to:

display a first page of an electronic document on a first region of the touch sensitive display unit;

receive a touch input on a second region of the touch sensitive display unit, wherein the second region is located at a bottom of the touch sensitive display unit;

display a second page rather than the first page on the first region of the touch sensitive display unit in response to the touch input;

detect a proximity touch input starting from a point of the touch input to another point spaced from the touch sensitive display unit; and

display a third page on the first region of the touch sensitive display unit when the proximity touch input is positioned at said another point, wherein a page displayed on the first region of the touch sensitive display unit is changed according to a progress of the proximity touch input between the point and said another point.

12 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 11 ,

wherein a page change speed is set differently according to a height of the proximity touch input from the touch sensitive display unit.

13 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the controller is further configured for cooperating with the touch sensitive display unit to:

return the first page from the second page or the third page when said another point is located out of a predetermined range.

14 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the proximity touch input moves in a linear direction from the touch sensitive display unit.

15 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the page displayed on the first region of the touch sensitive display unit is moved back to previously displayed pages if a moving direction of the proximity touch input changes from the linear direction into an opposite direction.

16 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 11 , the pages displayed on the first region of the touch sensitive display unit are sequentially changed by increasing a moving distance of the proximity touch input.

17 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the second region is configured to indicate a position of at least one of the first, second and third pages on an entire volume of the document.

18 . The electronic device as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the third page is determined when the proximity touch input is changed to a contact touch input applied to the touch sensitive display unit.
