Abstract
The present invention provides, among other things, compounds that include a water-soluble and non-peptidic polymer as well as a maleimidyl group. The compounds are useful as, among other things, polymeric reagents.
Claims (9)
1 . A compound of the following structure:
wherein (n) is from 2 to 3,000, R 4 is H or an organic radical, and (n′) is 3 to 10.
2 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein (n) is from 10 to 2,000.
3 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 4 is H.
4 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 4 is alkyl.
5 . The compound of claim 4 , wherein alkyl is methyl or benzyl.
6 . The compound of claim 5 , wherein alkyl is methyl.
7 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein (n′) is 3.
8 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein (n′) is 4.
