FAST AND ACCURATE PNEUMATIC/HYDRAULIC LINEAR POSITION CHANGING MECHANISMS

Pneumatic/hydraulic assisted mechanisms that can be used to move an object of considerable weight in quick and accurate steps. Said mechanisms comprise of an index wheel mechanism that is rotated by pre-tensioned springs (see FIG. 15 ). For a said index wheel mechanism that is powered by a pneumatic linear actuator, the shock loads that occur during the operation of said index wheel mechanism can be damped using a pneumatic Recovery System (see FIG. 27 ). For a said index wheel mechanism that is powered by a hydraulic linear actuator, the shock loads that occur during the operation of said index wheel mechanism can be damped using a hydraulic Recovery System (see FIG. 29 ).
