Abstract

Methods for the positioning of equipment are disclosed. One method of the present disclosure can include substantially aligning an equipment support structure with an equipment fixture point of a casing structure; adjusting the equipment support structure to have a selected height and a selected angle; sliding the equipment support structure across a platform having the selected height and the selected angle to reach the equipment fixture point; and coupling a piece of equipment to one of the equipment support structure and the equipment fixture point.

Claims (10)

1. A method for positioning turbomachine equipment, the method comprising:

substantially aligning an equipment support structure with an equipment fixture point of a casing structure, wherein the equipment support structure includes a centerline axis, and wherein the equipment support structure is mounted on a platform rotatably coupled to a height adjustable table;

adjusting the equipment support structure to have a selected height and a selected compound angle including a tilting differential of the platform and the centerline axis of the equipment support structure relative to an upper surface of the height adjustable table, and a rotational differential relative to a vertical axis;

sliding the equipment support structure across the platform at the selected height and the selected compound angle, and substantially along the direction of the centerline axis of the equipment support structure, to reach the equipment fixture point; and

coupling a piece of turbomachine equipment to one of the equipment support structure and the equipment fixture point.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the substantially aligning includes moving the height adjustable table across a guide track coupled to a scaffold surface.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the piece of turbomachine equipment comprises a gas turbine combustor having a fuel nozzle assembly.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting of the equipment support structure to have the compound angle includes tilting the equipment support structure and the platform within the horizontal axis.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the adjusting of the equipment support structure to have the compound angle further includes rotating the equipment support structure and the platform about the vertical axis.

6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising rotating the piece of equipment about a centerline axis of the piece of equipment.
