Abstract

Vascular treatment and methods include a plurality of self-expanding bulbs and a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Joints between woven structures and hypotubes include solder. Woven structures include patterns of radiopaque filaments measureable under x-ray. Structures are heat treated to include at least shapes at different temperatures. A catheter includes a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Heat treating systems include a detachable flange. Laser cutting systems include a fluid flow system.

Claims (44)

1. A device for treating a vessel, the device comprising:

a plurality of wires woven to form a textile structure having a longitudinal axis,

the textile structure expandable between a radially compressed state and a radially expanded state,

the textile structure in the radially expanded state comprising:

a first bulb having a first diameter and a first braid angle,

a first neck having a second diameter less than the first diameter and having a second braid angle less than the first braid angle,

a second bulb between the first bulb and the first neck along the longitudinal axis, the second bulb having a third diameter greater than the first diameter,

a second neck between the first bulb and the second bulb along the longitudinal axis, the second neck having a fourth diameter less than the first diameter and less than the third diameter,

a lateral neck extending from the first bulb at an angle to the longitudinal axis, the lateral neck having a first length, and

a medial neck extending from the first bulb at an angle to the longitudinal axis, the medial neck having a second length less than the first length.

2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first bulb is generally spherical or ovoid.

3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the second bulb has a third braid angle greater than the second braid angle.

4. The device of claim 3 , wherein each of the first bulb and the second bulb has a porosity configured to decrease flow into an aneurysm.

5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first bulb has a porosity configured to decrease flow into an aneurysm.

6. The device of claim 1 , wherein the lateral neck and the medial neck are each in a different plane.

7. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first diameter is between 5 mm and 6 mm and the second diameter is between 3.25 mm and 4 mm, or wherein the first diameter is between 18 mm and 22 mm and the second diameter is between 18 mm and 22 mm.

8. The device of claim 1 , wherein the lateral neck has a diameter between 2.75 mm and 3.25 mm and wherein the medial neck has a diameter between 2.25 mm and 2.75 mm, or wherein the lateral neck has a diameter between 8 mm and 12 mm and wherein the medial neck has a diameter between 8 mm and 12 mm.

9. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first bulb is generally spherical or ovoid, wherein the first bulb has a porosity configured to decrease flow into an aneurysm, and wherein the lateral neck and the medial neck are each in a different plane.

10. A device for treating a vessel, the device comprising:

a plurality of wires forming a textile structure changeable between a radially compressed state and a radially expanded state,

the textile structure comprising, in the radially expanded state:

an anchor bulb having a first braid angle,

a first neck extending from the anchor bulb, the first neck comprising:

a first generally cylindrical portion proximate to the anchor bulb,

a second generally cylindrical portion distant to the anchor bulb, and

a second bulb between the first generally cylindrical portion and the second generally cylindrical portion,

a second neck extending from the anchor bulb, the second neck having a second braid angle less than the first braid angle, and

a third neck extending from the anchor bulb, the third neck having a third braid angle less than the first braid angle.

11. The device of claim 10 , wherein the second bulb has a fourth braid angle greater than the second braid angle and the third braid angle.

12. The device of claim 11 , wherein each of the anchor bulb and the second bulb has a porosity configured to decrease flow into an aneurysm.

13. The device of claim 10 , wherein the anchor bulb has a porosity configured to decrease flow into an aneurysm.

14. The device of claim 10 , wherein the at least one of the first neck, the second neck, and the third neck is on a different plane than the others of the first neck, the second neck, and the third neck.

15. The device of claim 10 , wherein the second neck has a first length and the third neck has a second length less than the first length.

16. A device for treating a vessel, the device comprising:

a plurality of wires forming a textile structure transformable between a radially compressed state and a radially expanded state,

the textile structure comprising, in the radially expanded state:

an first bulb having a first braid angle,

a first neck extending from the first bulb,

a second neck extending from the first bulb, the second neck having a second braid angle less than the first braid angle, and

a third neck extending from the first bulb, the second neck having a third braid angle less than the first braid angle.

17. The device of claim 16 , wherein the first neck comprises a second bulb.

18. The device of claim 17 , wherein each of the first bulb and the second bulb has a porosity configured to decrease flow into an aneurysm.

19. The device of claim 16 , wherein the first bulb has a porosity configured to decrease flow into an aneurysm.

20. The device of claim 16 , wherein the first neck has a first length, the second neck has a second length less than the first length, and the third neck has a third length less than the second length, and wherein the at least one of the first neck, the second neck, and the third neck is on a different plane than the others of the first neck, the second neck, and the third neck.
