Abstract

A dual handheld player system including a smaller handheld player including a smaller memory for storing audio files, and audio playback circuitry, operative to play the audio files stored in the smaller memory when the smaller player is slid out of a larger player, and the larger handheld player, including tracks for sliding the smaller player in and out, a larger memory for storing audio and video files, and audio-video playback circuitry that is operative to play the audio and video files stored in the larger memory when the smaller portable player is slid in the tracks, and is not operative to play the audio and video files stored in the larger memory when the smaller portable player is slid out of said track.

Claims (13)

1. A dual player system comprising:

a smaller player comprising:

a smaller memory for storing audio files; and

audio playback circuitry, operative to play the audio files stored in said smaller memory when the smaller player is out of a larger player; and

a wireless modem for downloading video files that cannot be played by said audio playback circuitry, for playback by the larger player; and

a larger player, comprising:

tracks for sliding said smaller player in and out;

a larger memory for saving the video files downloaded by said wireless modem when said smaller player is in said tracks; and

audio-video playback circuitry that is operative to play the video files stored in said larger memory when said smaller player is in said tracks, and is not operative to play the video files stored in said larger memory when said smaller player is out of said tracks.

2. The dual player system of claim 1 , wherein said larger player further comprises an external connector for receiving audio files from an external computer, for saving in said smaller memory when said smaller player is in said tracks.

3. The dual player system of claim 2 , wherein said larger player further comprises a wireless modem for receiving audio files over a wireless network, for saving in said smaller memory when said smaller player is in said tracks.

4. The dual player system of claim 1 , wherein said smaller player does not have its own display.

The dual player system of claim 1 , wherein said larger player further comprises a larger battery for powering said audio-video playback circuitry, wherein said smaller player further comprises a smaller battery for powering said audio playback circuitry, and wherein said smaller battery is charged by said larger battery when said smaller player is in said tracks.
