Multi-angle levels and plumbing methods
View Patent ↗Multi-angle levels and plumbing methods are described. In one aspect, a multi-angle level has a body made up of a base section and a rotating section rotatably secured to the base section. A leveling mechanism is disposed on the rotating section.
1. A method comprising:
securing a base section of a body of a multi-angle level on a cylindrical surface, a rotating section of the body rotatably secured to the base section and a leveling mechanism operatively coupled to the rotating section, and a concave portion of the base section and a concave portion of the rotating section when aligned define a concave bottom;
adjusting orientation of the cylindrical surface such that the multi-angle level indicates that the cylindrical surface is level in one plane;
rotating the rotating section of the body of the multi-angle level with respect to the base section secured to the cylindrical surface; and
adjusting orientation of the cylindrical surface such that the multi-angle level indicates that the cylindrical surface is level in another plane.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the securing of the base section of the body of the multi-angle level comprises mating the concave bottom of the base section of the multi-angle level to the cylindrical surface.
3. A method comprising:
securing a base section of a body of a multi-angle level on a cylindrical surface, a rotating section of the body rotatably secured to the base section and a leveling mechanism operatively coupled to the rotating section, and a concave portion of the base section and a concave portion of the rotating section when aligned define a concave bottom; and
rotating the leveling mechanism within the rotating section of the body of the multi-angle level.
4. A method comprising:
securing a base section of a body of a multi-angle level on a cylindrical surface, a rotating section of the body rotatably secured to the base section and a leveling mechanism operatively coupled to the rotating section, and a concave portion of the base section and a concave portion of the rotating section when aligned define a concave bottom;
wherein the securing of the base section of the body of the multi-angle level comprises mating a generally curved bearing surface of a clamp extending from the body of the multi-angle level with an open top end of the cylindrical surface and clamping the cylindrical surface between the curved bearing surface and a fastener extending from the body, generally perpendicular to the bearing surface.
