Abstract

Disclosed is a coil for wirelessly transmitting or receiving power. The coil includes a coil unit formed by winding a plurality of wires insulated from each other; and a capacitor connected to the coil unit. The wires of the coil unit are shorted at a predetermined interval.

Claims (40)

1. A coil for wirelessly transmitting or receiving power, the coil comprising:

a coil unit comprising a plurality of wires, the plurality of wires insulated from each other; and

a capacitor connected to the coil unit,

wherein the wires of the coil unit are shorted at predetermined intervals throughout the entirety of the wires.

2. The coil of claim 1 , wherein the interval is in a range of about 0.01 m to about 100 m.

3. The coil of claim 1 , wherein the wire comprises a litz wire, and

wherein the predetermined intervals are predetermined by dividing the wires into equal intervals lengthwise.

4. The coil of claim 1 , wherein the coil unit further comprises:

an insulator layer between the plurality of wires.

5. The coil of claim 4 , wherein the coil unit further comprises:

a conductor electrically connected to at least portions of the plurality of wires.

6. The coil of claim 5 , wherein the conductor is configured to electrically connect the adjacent wires to each other through the insulator.

7. The coil of claim 5 , wherein the insulator has holes at a predetermined interval, the conductor being in the holes.

8. The coil of claim 5 , wherein the conductor contacts at least portions of the plurality of wires.

9. The coil of claim 1 , wherein the coil unit is a solenoid type coil unit.

10. The coil of claim 1 , wherein the coil unit is a spiral type coil unit.

11. A coil for wirelessly transmitting or receiving power, the coil comprising:

a bundle comprising a plurality of wires, the plurality of wires insulated from each other and conductors located at predetermined intervals throughout the entirety of the wires to short at least portions of the plurality of wires; and

a capacitor connected to the coil unit.

12. The coil of claim 11 , wherein the conductors are spaced apart from each other.

13. A wireless power transmitter comprising:

a transmission coil for transmitting power supplied from a power source using an electromagnetic induction; and

a transmission resonant coil coupled with the transmission coil to transmit the power using resonance,

wherein at least one of the transmission coil and the transmission resonant coil comprises:

a coil unit formed by winding a plurality of wires which are insulated from each other and shorted at a predetermined interval throughout the entirety of the wires; and

a capacitor connected to the coil unit.

14. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13 , wherein the interval is in a range of 0.01 m to 100 m.

15. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13 , wherein the wire comprises a litz wire, and

wherein the predetermined intervals are predetermined by dividing the wires into equal intervals lengthwise.

16. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13 , wherein the coil unit comprises at least one of a solenoid type coil unit and a spiral type coil unit.

17. A wireless power receiver for wirelessly receiving power from a wireless power transmitter to transmit the power to a load, the wireless power receiver comprising:

a receiving resonant coil for receiving the power from a transmission resonant coil of the wireless power transmitter by using resonance; and

a receiving coil for receiving the power from the receiving resonant coil using an electromagnetic induction to transmit the power to the load,

wherein at least one of the receiving resonant coil and the receiving coil comprises:

a coil unit formed by winding a plurality of wires which are insulated from each other and shorted at a predetermined interval throughout the entirety of the wires; and

a capacitor connected to the coil unit.

18. The wireless power receiver of claim 17 , wherein the interval is in a range of 0.01 m to 100 m.

19. The wireless power receiver of claim 17 , wherein the wire comprises a litz wire, and

wherein the predetermined intervals are predetermined by dividing the wires into equal intervals lengthwise.

20. The wireless power receiver of claim 17 , wherein the coil unit comprises at least one of a solenoid type coil unit and a spiral type coil unit.
