Topical gel compositions including poly(monostearoyl glycerol-co-succinate) polymer and methods for enhancing the topical application of a benefit agent
A composition comprising: a benefit agent; at least one polymer including a poly(monostearoyl glycerol-co-succinate) polymer; at least one lower alcohol; and at least one co-solvent; and a method for enhancing topical delivery of a benefit agent are disclosed.
1. A topical composition comprising
minoxidil in an amount from about 0.001% to about 20% by weight of the composition;
poly(monostearoyl glycerol-co-succinate) polymer in an amount from about 0.05% to about 20% by weight of the composition;
ethanol is in an amount from about 5% to about 80% by weight of the composition; and
a co-solvent comprising pentylene glycol and glycerin in an amount from about 1% to about 50% by weight of the composition.
2. The topical composition according to claim 1 , wherein
the minoxidil is in an amount from about 0.01% to about 10% by weight of the composition;
the poly(monostearoyl glycerol-co-succinate) polymer is in an amount from about 1% to about 10% by weight of the composition;
the ethanol is in an amount from about 5% to about 40% by weight of the composition; and
the co-solvent is in an amount from about 5% to about 40% by weight of the composition.
3. The topical composition according to claim 2 , wherein
the minoxidil is an amount from about 1% to about 5% by weight of the composition;
the poly(monostearoyl glycerol-co-succinate) polymer is an amount from about 1% to about 5% by weight of the composition;
the ethanol is an amount from about 10% to about 30% by weight of the composition; and
the co-solvent is in an amount from about 10% to about 20% by weight of the composition.
4. A topical composition comprising
minoxidil in an amount from about 1% to about 5% by weight of the composition;
a poly(monostearoyl glycerol-co-succinate) polymer in an amount from about 1% to about 5% by weight of the composition;
ethyl alcohol in an amount from about 15% to about 25% by weight of the composition; and
a co-solvent comprising glycerin and pentylene glycol in an amount from about 10% to about 20% by weight of the composition.
