SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ITERATIVELY UPDATING CHARACTERISTICS IN A SOCIAL NETWORK

1 . A system, comprising:

a network interface device configured to be communicatively coupled to a user interface;

an electronic data storage configured to store social network data; and

a processor, coupled to the network interface device and the electronic data storage, configured to:

cause the network interface device to display, on the user interface, social network content items;

cause the network interface device to display, on the user interface, recommended actions related to the social network and a member of the social network associated with the user interface, the recommended actions being implementable based on a user input via the user interface, the recommended actions being displayed based on at least one display characteristic; and

iteratively update the display characteristic based, at least in part, on an implementation, by the user, of at least one of the recommended actions.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to iterative update the display characteristic to increase a likelihood of the user implementing the recommended actions.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the display characteristic is one of a plurality of display characteristics, and wherein the processor is further configured to iteratively update some of the plurality of display characteristics based on adjusting ones of the display characteristics.

4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the processor is configured to iteratively update ones of the plurality of display characteristics independently based on the implementation, by the user, of the at least one of the recommended actions.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the processor is configured to iteratively update ones of the plurality of display characteristics independently further based on a non-implementation, by the user, of the at least one of the recommended actions.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the display characteristic is at least one of a location on the user interface, a font, a text size, and a color.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the processor is further configured to iteratively update the display characteristic based on a reaction by other users of the social network to recommended actions including the display characteristic.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to cause the network interface device to display the recommended actions interleaved with the social network content items on the user interface.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is configured to cause the network interface device to adjust a location of the recommended actions on the user interface relative to the social network content items.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein each of the recommended actions has a likelihood of implementation by the user, and wherein the processor is configured to adjust the display characteristics based on the likelihood of implementation.

11 . A method, comprising:

causing, with a processor, a network interface device to display, on a user interface, social network content items;

causing, with the processor, the network interface device to display, on the user interface, recommended actions related to a social network and a member of the social network associated with the user interface, the recommended actions being implementable based on a user input via the user interface, the recommended actions being displayed based on at least one display characteristic; and

iteratively updating, with the processor, the display characteristic based, at least in part, on an implementation, by the user, of at least one of the recommended actions.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein iteratively updating the display characteristic is configured to increase a likelihood of the user implementing the recommended actions.

13 . The sys method tem of claim 11 , wherein the display characteristic is one of a plurality of display characteristics, and wherein iteratively updating the characteristic includes iteratively updating some of the plurality of display characteristics based on adjusting ones of the display characteristics.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein iteratively updating ones of the plurality of display characteristics iteratively updates the ones of the plurality of display characteristics independently based on the implementation, by the user, of the at least one of the recommended actions.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein iteratively updating ones of the plurality of display characteristics iteratively updates ones of the plurality of display characteristics independently further based on a non-implementation, by the user, of the at least one of the recommended actions.

16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the display characteristic is at least one of a location on the user interface, a font, a text size, and a color.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein iteratively updating ones of the plurality of display characteristics iteratively updates the display characteristic based on a reaction by other users of the social network to recommended actions including the display characteristic.

18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein causing the network interface device to display the recommended actions displays the recommended actions interleaved with the social network content items on the user interface.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein causing the network interface device to display the recommended actions adjusts a location of the recommended actions on the user interface relative to the social network content items.

20 . The method of claim 11 , wherein each of the recommended actions has a likelihood of implementation by the user, and iteratively updating the display characteristic updates the display characteristics based on the likelihood of implementation.
