PERSONAL AUDIO ASSISTANT DEVICE AND METHOD
A wearable accessory for delivery of personalized audio service includes a first microphone for capturing sound, a first speaker for playing media, a logic circuit for creating a personalized Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) to enhance listening experience of the media, a communication module for accessing the Internet and to provide access to the media in response to capturing the sound, and a memory storage unit for storing information related to the captured sound. Other embodiments are disclosed.
1 . A wearable accessory for delivery of personalized audio services, comprising:
a first microphone for capturing sound;
a first speaker for playing media;
a logic circuit for creating a personalized Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) to enhance listening experience of the media;
a communication module for accessing the Internet and to provide access to the media in response to capturing the sound;
a memory storage unit for storing information related to the captured sound.
2 . The wearable accessory of claim 1 , wherein the logic circuit provides sonification of information from the accessing of the media for non-speech audio to convey and aurally perceptualize non-acoustic data.
3 . The wearable accessory of claim 2 , wherein the sonification includes adjusting timbres and spatial locations according a theme when played out the first speaker.
4 . The wearable accessory of claim 4 , wherein the sonification is performed in accordance with the HRTF to change the user's perception of the sound and perception of the underlying information being portrayed.
5 . The wearable accessory of claim 4 , further comprising for the sonification a second microphone for capturing stereo sounds in the ambient environment.
6 . The wearable accessory of claim 4 , further comprising for the sonification a second speaker for playing of the media binaurally.
7 . The wearable accessory of claim 2 , wherein the logic circuit captures the HRTF for personal registration services and allows the user to select a best listening experience.
8 . The wearable accessory of claim 7 , wherein listening experience is applied to video related preferences, including at least one of a Bluetooth video system, television system, personal video player, video camera, or cell phone.
9 . The wearable accessory of claim 1 , wherein the wearable accessory is an eye-wear accessory.
10 . The wearable accessory of claim 1 , wherein the media comprises text and the media is played using text to speech synthesis.
11 . The wearable accessory of claim 1 , wherein the media comprises speech to text or text to speech processing of email.
12 . The wearable accessory of claim 1 , wherein the media comprises text to speech of stock market information or financial information used in conducting a commercial transaction.
13 . The wearable accessory of claim 1 , wherein attributes of the media are modified based on a trigger of a predefined alert condition.
14 . The wearable accessory of claim 1 , wherein the media comprises one or more of time and date information, calendaring information, medication reminders, or location information from a GPS system.
15 . A wearable accessory for delivery of personalized audio services, comprising:
a housing;
a first microphone within the housing, the first microphone for capturing audio;
a communication module within the housing;
one or more processors communicatively coupled to the first microphone and the communication module; and
a computer readable medium communicatively coupled to the one or more processors and containing instructions which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform functions comprising:
creating a personalized Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) to enhance listening experience of the media;
accessing a network and providing access to the media in response to capturing the audio; and
storing information related to the captured audio.
16 . The wearable accessory of claim 15 , wherein the one or more processors provides sonification of information of non-speech audio to convey and aurally perceptualize non-acoustic data.
17 . The wearable accessory of claim 16 , wherein the sonification includes adjusting timbres and spatial locations according a theme when output from a first speaker.
18 . The wearable accessory of claim 15 , wherein the sonification is performed in accordance with the HRTF to change a user's perception of the sound and perception of the underlying information being portrayed.
19 . The wearable accessory of claim 15 , further comprising for the sonification a second microphone for capturing stereo sounds in the ambient environment and a second speaker for playing of the media binaurally.
20 . The wearable accessory of claim 15 , wherein the wearable accessory comprises eye-wear.
21 . The wearable accessory of claim 15 , further comprising a presentation device among a display, a touch sensitive screen, or a speaker communicatively coupled to the first microphone to complement detected voice commands by presenting at least one among text, images, webpages, or audible outputs at the presentation device.
