Abstract

A protective cap 2 is engaged with a latch 10 of a diluent container 5 so as to fix the diluent container 5 at a liquid holding position of a diluent container containing section 11 . The engagement is released when the protective cap 2 is set to an open position against the engagement so as to expose an inlet 13 . When the protective cap 2 is shifted from the open position to a closed position, the protective cap 2 pushes the diluent container 5 into a liquid discharge position. Thus, it is possible to preserve a diluent for a long period of time and to easily open the diluent container 5 without having to complicate the structure of an analysis apparatus.

Claims (18)

1. An analysis device comprising:

an analysis device main body having, formed thereon, an inlet that draws a sample liquid into the analysis device main body;

a protective cap that covers the inlet of the analysis device main body;

a hooked section having a proximal end, an engaging end with a tip on which a hook is formed and a connecting section, formed of an elastically deformable material, between the proximal end and the engaging end, the proximal end of the hooked section being connected to one of the analysis device main body and the protective cap; and

a locking piece formed in correspondence to the hook of the hooked section on the other of the analysis device main body and the protective cap, wherein

the protective cap is maintained in a closed state by a releasable engagement formed between an engagement surface formed on the engagement end of the hooked section and the locking piece, in which the engagement section is pressed on the locking piece by an elastic force caused by an elastic deformation of the connecting section, and the hook of the hooked section is not locked to the locking piece, in an unused state of the analysis device,

the protective cap is movable from the closed state to an open state to expose the inlet, and in the open state the hooked section is not in contact with the locking piece, and the elastic deformation of the connecting section of the hooked section is released, and

the protective cap is movable from the open state to a second closed state, and the hook is configured to slide on a surface of the locking piece to deform the connecting section of the hooked section elastically and to lock the hook to the locking piece in a locking engagement.

2. The analysis device according to claim 1 , wherein

an end of the protective cap is pivotally supported by the analysis device main body so as to be rotationally movable between the position where the inlet of the analysis device main body is covered and the position where the inlet of the analysis device main body is exposed,

the locking piece is provided on a primary face of the analysis device main body, and

the hooked section is provided on a primary face of the protective cap.

3. The analysis device according to claim 1 , wherein

an end of the protective cap is pivotally supported by the analysis device main body so as to be rotationally movable between the position where the inlet of the analysis device main body is covered and the position where the inlet of the analysis device main body is exposed,

the locking piece is provided on a peripheral face adjacent to a primary face of the analysis device main body, and

the hooked section is provided on a peripheral face adjacent to a primary face of the protective cap.

4. The analysis device according to claim 1 , wherein the engagement section formed on the engagement end of the hooked section is distinct from the hook.

5. The analysis device according to claim 1 , wherein the protective cap is movable to in a completely closed state with the protective cap covering entirely the inlet of the analysis device main body, when the analysis device is in an unused state.
