Composition and method for fertility therapy using nutritional supplements
A new composition and method are described for male fertility therapy. In one particular embodiment, the composition comprises Lepidium meyenii, carnitine and Coenzyme Q10. When it is administered to males as fertility therapy following the recommended therapeutic regimen, enhanced sperm count, sperm quality, and sperm motility results.
1. A fertility-enhancing composition for human male fertility therapy comprising:
(i) a sperm count enhancing dose of Lepidium meyenii,
(ii) a sperm quality enhancing dose of carnitine,
(iii) a sperm motility enhancing dose of Coenzyme Q10, and
(iv) ginseng.
2. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition is in a dosage form selected from the group consisting of a tablet, capsule, liquid, liposome, inhalant, sublingual tablet, oral spray and dermal patch.
3. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition comprises from about 80 mg to about 8 g of Lepidium meyenii.
4. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 3 , wherein said composition comprises from about 250 mg to about 2500 g of Lepidium meyenii.
5. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition comprises from about 10 mg to about 1000 mg of carnitine.
6. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 5 , wherein said composition comprises from about 40 mg to about 400 mg of carnitine.
7. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition comprises from about 1 mg to about 150 mg of Coenzyme Q10.
8. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 7 , wherein said composition comprises from about 3 mg to about 50 mg of Coenzyme Q10.
9. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 , wherein Lepidium meyenii is in the form of Lepidium meyenii root.
10. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 , wherein Lepidium meyenii is in the form of an extract of Lepidium hypocotyl.
11. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 further comprising grape seed.
12. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 11 , wherein said grape seed contains 90% proanthocyanidins.
13. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 , wherein ginseng is panax ginseng.
14. The fertility-enhancing composition of claim 1 further comprising Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B 12, Pantothenic Acid, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, and Chromium.
15. A fertility-enhancing composition for human male fertility therapy comprising:
(i) a sperm count enhancing dose of an extract of Lepidium hypocotyl,
(ii) a sperm quality enhancing dose of carnitine,
(iii) a sperm motility enhancing dose of Coenzyme Q10, and
(iv) ginseng.
16. A method for enhancing fertility in a male human comprising administering an effective amount of a composition of claim 1 to said male human.
17. The method of claim 16 , wherein said composition is administered one to three doses per day to said male human.
18. The method of claim 16 , wherein said composition is administered for at least 3 months.
