Device call notification extensions

1. A method, comprising:

detecting an incoming voice call at an information handling device;

detecting one or more external notification extension conditions at the information handling device,

tracking user-device interactions to build a pattern of user behavior with respect to external conditions;

updating the one or more external notification extension conditions based on the pattern of user behavior;

wherein the external notification extension conditions comprise detecting a redetermined voice command input to the information handling device during an incoming voice call; and

in response to detecting one or more updated external notification extension conditions at the information handling device, extending a notification of the incoming voice call at the information handling device.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the external notification extension conditions comprise detecting that the information handling device is in a predetermined physical location.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the predetermined physical location of the information handling device is detected via one or more of a global positioning satellite system in communication with the information handling device and detection of a network device in communication with said information handling device.

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the predetermined physical location is one of a group of predetermined physical locations defined by a user.

5. The method of claim 2 , wherein the predetermined physical location is one of a group of predetermined physical locations learned via consultation of a stored history of user/device interactions.

6. The method of claim 3 , wherein the predetermined physical location is ascertained via detecting that one or more network connection devices previously associated with the predetermined physical location is in communication with the information handling device.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined voice command is received though a microphone of the information handling device.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the voice input is matched against a predetermined voice input prior to activating the notification extension at the information handling device.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information handling device is one of a cellular phone and a tablet computing device.

10. An information handling device, comprising:

one or more processors; and

a memory operatively coupled with the one or more processors that stores instructions executable by the one or more processors to:

detect an incoming voice call at the information handling device;

detect one or more external notification extension conditions at the information handling device,

track user-device interactions to build a pattern of user behavior with respect to external conditions;

update the one or more external notification extension conditions based on the pattern of user behavior;

wherein the external notification extension conditions comprise detecting a predetermined voice command input to the information handling device during an incoming voice call; and

in response to detecting one or more updated external notification extension conditions at the information handling device, extend a notification of the incoming voice call at the information handling device.

11. The information handling device of claim 10 , wherein the external notification extension conditions comprise detecting that the information handling device is in a predetermined physical location.

12. The information handling device of claim 11 , wherein the predetermined physical location of the information handling device is detected via one or more of a global positioning satellite system in communication with the information handling device and detection of a network device in communication with said information handling device.

13. The information handling device of claim 11 , wherein the predetermined physical location is one of a group of predetermined physical locations defined by a user.

14. The information handling device of claim 11 , wherein the predetermined physical location is one of a group of predetermined physical locations learned via consultation of a stored history of user/device interactions.

15. The information handling device of claim 12 , wherein the predetermined physical location is ascertained via detecting that one or more network connection devices previously associated with the predetermined physical location is in communication with the information handling device.

16. A program product, comprising:

a storage device having program code embodied therewith, the program code comprising:

computer program code that detects an incoming voice call at an information handling device;

computer program code that detects one or more external notification extension conditions at the information handling device,

computer program code that tracks user-device interactions to build a pattern of user behavior with respect to external conditions;

computer program code that updates the one or more external notification extension conditions based on the pattern of user behavior;

wherein the external notification extension conditions comprise detecting a predetermined voice command input to the information handling device during an incoming voice call; and

computer program code that, in response to detecting one or more updated external notification extension conditions at the information handling device, extends a notification of the incoming voice call at the information handling device.
