Abstract

Various aspects of the invention described herein provide systems and methods for context-linked importation of user information. One aspect of the invention provides a method for context-linked importation of user information. The method includes: providing an interactive environment that allows posting of content by a plurality of pre-identified users; receiving content for the interactive environment from a pre-identified user; selecting relevant data about the pre-identified user from a database, the relevant data selected based on information contained in the content; and displaying the relevant data along with the content on the interactive environment.

Claims (15)

1. A method for context-linked identification and importation of user information from a medical information database containing user medical information into an interactive environment implemented on a computer and accessible to other users via a network, the method comprising:

providing the interactive environment on the computer that allows posting of medical information content by a plurality of pre-identified users, each pre-identified user posting his own medical information content;

receiving first medical information content on the computer for the interactive environment from a first pre-identified user;

in response to a request by a user, identifying and selecting on the computer relevant medical information data about the first pre-identified user from the medical information database, the identification and selection being based on the first medical information content posted by the first pre-identified user, the relevant medical information data selected from medical information data previously-submitted by the first pre-identified user by determining a relationship between the one or more items of the medical information data previously-submitted by the first pre-identified user and the corresponding first medical information content, the identification and selection being made without additional intervention by the first user; and

displaying via the computer the selected relevant medical information data to other users along with the first medical information content on the interactive environment.

2. A system for the context-linked identification and importation of user medical information from a medical information database into an interactive environment implemented on a computer and accessible to other users, the system comprising:

a medical information database; and

a server in communication with the medical information database, the server configured to:

provide the interactive environment on the computer that allows posting of medical information content by a plurality of pre-identified users;

receive a posting of first medical information content on the computer for the interactive environment from a first pre-identified user;

in response to a request for selected medical information data, identifying and selecting on the computer relevant medical information data about the first pre-identified user from the medical information database based on the first medical information content posted by the first pre-identified user, the relevant data selected from medical information data previously-submitted by the first pre-identified user by determining if one or more items of the medical information data previously-submitted by the first pre-identified user correspond to the requested medical information data without intervention by the first user; and

display via the computer the relevant medical information data to other users along with the first medical information content on the interactive environment.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the method further includes the steps of: receiving second medical information content on the computer for the interactive environment from a second pre-identified user in response to a review of the first medical information content from the first user;

identifying and selecting on the computer relevant medical information data about the second pre-identified user from the medical information database based on the second medical information content posted by the second pre-identified user, the relevant data selected from medical information data previously-submitted by the second pre-identified user by determining if a relationship exists between the one or more items of the medical information data previously-submitted by the second pre-identified user that correspond to the first medical information content without intervention by the second user; and

displaying via the computer the relevant medical information data to other users along with the relevant first and second medical information content on the interactive environment.
