Abstract

A display device includes: a screen unit; a drive unit; a signal processing unit; and a selector, wherein the screen unit includes rows of scanning lines, columns of signal lines, matrix-state pixel circuits and a light sensor, the drive unit includes a scanner supplying a control signal to the scanning lines and a driver supplying a video signal to the signal lines, the screen unit is sectioned into plural regions each having plural pixel circuits, the pixel circuit emits light in accordance with the video signal, the light sensor is arranged with respect to each region and outputs a luminance signal in accordance with the light emission, the selector supplies plural luminance signals to the signal processing unit by switching the signals, and the signal processing unit corrects the video signal in accordance with the luminance signals and supplies the video signal to the driver.

7 . A display device comprising:

a screen unit;

a drive unit;

a signal processing unit;

a selector; and

a converter,

wherein the screen unit includes rows of scanning lines, columns of signal lines, pixel circuits forming a matrix, and a plurality of light sensors,

the drive unit includes a scanner supplying a control signal to the scanning lines and a driver supplying a video signal to the signal lines,

the pixel circuit emits light in accordance with the video signal,

each of the plurality of light sensors is configured to output a luminance signal in accordance with the light,

the selector is configured to supply plural luminance signals to the signal processing unit by switching the signals, and

the plurality of light sensors are grouped into blocks,

the converter is configured to convert the luminance signals outputted from the plurality of light sensors and supply the converted luminance signals to the signal processing unit, and

the converter is arranged to correspond to each block.

8 . The display device according to claim 7 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to supply a video signal for display during a display period in which video is displayed in the screen unit, and supply a video signal for luminance detection during a detection period in which video is not displayed in the screen unit.

9 . The display device according to claim 8 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to supply the video signal for luminance detection in each frame and allow only pixel circuits of detection targets to emit light.

10 . The display device according to claim 7 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to compare a first luminance signal outputted from one of the plurality of light sensors during a first period with a second luminance signal outputted from one of the plurality of light sensors during a second period after the first period.

11 . The display device according to claim 10 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to correct the video signal in accordance with the comparison result and supply the signal to the driver.

12 . A display device comprising:

a screen unit;

a drive unit;

a signal processing unit;

a selector; and

an amplifier,

wherein the screen unit includes rows of scanning lines, columns of signal lines, pixel circuits forming a matrix, and a plurality of light sensors,

the drive unit includes a scanner supplying a control signal to the scanning lines and a driver supplying a video signal to the signal lines,

the pixel circuit emits light in accordance with the video signal,

each of the plurality of light sensors is configured to output a luminance signal in accordance with the light,

the selector is configured to supply plural luminance signals to the signal processing unit by switching the signals, and

the plurality of light sensors are grouped into blocks,

the amplifier is configured to amplify the luminance signals outputted from the plurality of light sensors and supply the amplified luminance signals to the signal processing unit, and

the amplifier is arranged to correspond to each block.

13 . The display device according to claim 12 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to supply a video signal for display during a display period in which video is displayed in the screen unit, and supply a video signal for luminance detection during a detection period in which video is not displayed in the screen unit.

14 . The display device according to claim 13 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to supply the video signal for luminance detection in each frame and allow only pixel circuits of detection targets to emit light.

15 . The display device according to claim 12 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to compare a first luminance signal outputted from one of the plurality of light sensors during a first period with a second luminance signal outputted from one of the plurality of light sensors during a second period after the first period.

16 . The display device according to claim 15 ,

wherein the signal processing unit is configured to correct the video signal in accordance with the comparison result and supply the signal to the driver.

17 . An electronic product comprising the display device according to claim 7 .

18 . An electronic product comprising the display device according to claim 12 .
