Abstract

Disclosed is a system and method for presenting content within a three-dimensional environment. A data container containing a parameter representing at least a portion of the content is rendered within the environment and a two dimensional prospective view from a view point is produced. The view point is moved along a predefined path and the container's parameter is updated in relation to the position of the view point.

Claims (25)

1 . A computing platform comprising:

a processor;

a memory;

a display; and

at least one rendering module stored in said memory and executed by said processor,

said at least one rendering module configured to render on said display a two dimensional perspective view of a virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment,

wherein said virtual three dimensional environment includes a background and a virtual object positioned at a specific location and a specific orientation within the virtual three dimensional environment, and

wherein said at least one rendering module is further configured to alter said specific orientation of the virtual object within the virtual three dimensional environment responsive to a change in a relative position between said view point within the virtual three dimensional environment and said virtual object within the virtual three dimensional environment.

2 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein the change in the relative position comprises a change in distance between said view point within the virtual three dimensional environment and said virtual object within the virtual three dimensional environment.

3 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein the change in the relative position comprises a change in an angle between said view point within the virtual three dimensional environment and said virtual object within the virtual three dimensional environment.

The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said rendering module is further configured to render an updated two dimensional perspective view of a virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment responsive to said change in relative position between said view point within the virtual three dimensional environment and said virtual object within the virtual three dimensional environment.

5 . The computing platform of claim 4 , wherein the change in the relative position comprises a change in a distance between said view point within the virtual three dimensional environment and said virtual object within the virtual three dimensional environment.

6 . The computing platform of claim 4 , wherein the change in the relative position comprises a change in an angle between said view point within the virtual three dimensional environment and said virtual object within the virtual three dimensional environment.

7 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a color of the background.

8 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a texture of the background.

9 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in surface appearance of the background.

10 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a movement of the background.

11 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a specific location of the virtual object.

12 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a specific orientation of the virtual object.

13 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a size of the virtual object.

14 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a shape of the virtual object.

15 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a color of the virtual object.

16 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a texture of the virtual object.

17 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a change in a surface appearance of the virtual object.

18 . The computing platform of claim 1 , wherein said updated two dimensional perspective view of the virtual three dimensional environment from a view point within the virtual three dimensional environment comprises a movement of the virtual object.
