Abstract

Implementations are directed to providing a user of a mobile device access to patient information and patient physiological data. Actions can include receiving user input, the user input indicating a user command to display a consults screen, in response to the user input, processing user-specific data to determine one or more user-specific patient icon groups, and displaying the consults screen on the mobile device, the consults screen including one or more display regions and one or more patient icon groups, each display region displaying a patient icon group, the patient icon groups including a pending patient icon group.

Claims (40)

1. A computer-implemented method for providing a user of a mobile device access to patient information and patient physiological data, the method being executed using one or more processors and comprising:

receiving, by the one or more processors, a first user input, the first user input indicating a first user command to display a site screen;

in response to the first user input, processing, by a data management system, first user-specific data, accessed through a user-facility index that maps an identifier associated with the user to affiliated facilities, in a plurality of facilities, that the user as a healthcare provider is associated with, to determine site icons corresponding to the affiliated facilities;

displaying the site screen on the mobile device, the site screen comprising the site icons;

receiving, by the one or more processors, a second user input, the second user input indicating a second user command to display a consults screen;

in response to the second user input, processing, by the data management system, second user-specific data, accessed through a patient-user index that maps the identifier associated with the user to patient data comprising the patient information and the patient physiological data from the plurality of facilities, that the user as the healthcare provider is associated with, to determine one or more user-specific patient icon groups corresponding to the affiliated facilities, the data management system being configured to operate in a pass-through mode and a reposed mode to improve performance of retrieval of the patient information and the patient physiological data;

displaying the consults screen on the mobile device, the consults screen being site agnostic and comprising one or more user-specific patient icon groups corresponding to the affiliated facilities, a first display region, a second display region and a third display region, the display region displaying a pending patient icon group, the second display region displaying an accepted patient icon group and a third display region displaying a rejected patient icon group;

receiving, by the one or more processors, a third user input, the third user input indicating a user selection between acceptance and rejection of responsibility for one or more tasks associated with one or more patients treated at the affiliated facilities that are displayed within the first display region before a threshold period of time is reached, the threshold period of time defining a time period, after which each of the one or more tasks that were not accepted by the user are automatically removed from the pending patient icon group and added to the rejected patient icon group; and

updating the display of the consults screen on the mobile device, in response to the third user input by updating the pending patient icon group and one of the accepted patient icon group and the rejected patient icon group based on the user selection.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pending patient icon group comprises one or more patient icons, each patient icon representing a respective patient and/or patient-associated task that could be assigned to the user.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein patient icons in the pending patient icon group comprises one or more user interface elements, a user interface element being user-selectable to accept an assignment indicating that the user accepts responsibility for the respective patient and/or the patient-associated task.

4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising, in response to user selection of the user interface element, receiving a message indicating user acceptance and assigning a patient and/or patient-associated task associated with a respective patient icon to the user.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein assigning the patient and/or patient-associated task associated with a respective patient icon to the user comprises updating a back-end system.

6. The method of claim 3 , further comprising, in response to user selection of the user interface element, ceasing display of the patient icon that included the user interface element, and displaying a patient icon in another patient icon group indicating that a patient and/or patient-associated task associated with the patient icon has been assigned to the user.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein patient icons in the pending patient icon group comprises one or more user interface elements, a user interface element being user-selectable to reject an assignment.

8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising, in response to user selection of the user interface element, receiving a message indicating user rejection of assignment of a patient and/or patient-associated task associated with a respective patient icon to the user.

9. The method of claim 7 , further comprising, in response to user selection of the user interface element, ceasing display of the patient icon that included the user interface element, and displaying a patient icon in another patient icon group indicating that a patient and/or patient-associated task associated with the patient icon has been rejected by the user.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more user-specific patient icon groups further comprise an accepted patient icon group that comprises one or more patient icons associated with patients and/or patient-associated tasks that have been accepted by the user.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more user-specific patient icon groups further comprise a rejected patient icon group that comprises one or more patient icons associated with patients and/or patient-associated tasks that have been rejected by the user.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the consults screen is specific to a facility.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable storage device coupled to one or more processors and having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations for providing a user of a mobile device access to patient information and patient physiological data, the operations comprising:

receiving a first user input, the first user input indicating a first user command to display a site screen;

in response to the first user input, processing, by a data management system, first user-specific data, accessed through a user-facility index that maps an identifier associated with the user to affiliated facilities, in a plurality of facilities, that the user as a healthcare provider is associated with, to determine site icons corresponding to the affiliated facilities;

displaying the site screen on the mobile device, the site screen comprising the site icons;

receiving, by the one or more processors, a second user input, the second user input indicating a second user command to display a consults screen;

in response to the second user input, processing, by the data management system, second user-specific data, accessed through a patient-user index that maps the identifier associated with the user to patient data comprising the patient information and the patient physiological data from the plurality of facilities, that the user as the healthcare provider is associated with, to determine one or more user-specific patient icon groups corresponding to the affiliated facilities, the data management system being configured to operate in a pass-through mode and a reposed mode to improve performance of retrieval of the patient information and the patient physiological data;

displaying the consults screen being site agnostic and comprising one or more user-specific patient icon groups corresponding to the affiliated facilities, a first display region, a second display region and a third display region, the display region displaying a pending patient icon group, the second display region displaying an accepted patient icon group and a third display region displaying a rejected patient icon group;

receiving a third user input, the third user input indicating a user selection between acceptance and rejection of responsibility for one or more tasks associated with one or more patients treated at the affiliated facilities that are displayed within the first display region before a threshold period of time is reached, the threshold period of time defining a time period, after which each of the one or more tasks that were not accepted by the user are automatically removed from the pending patient icon group and added to the rejected patient icon group; and

updating the display of the consults screen on the mobile device, in response to the third user input by updating the pending patient icon group and one of the accepted patient icon group and the rejected patient icon group based on the user selection.

14. A system, comprising:

one or more processors; and

a computer-readable storage medium in communication with the one or more processors and having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations for providing a user of a mobile device access to patient information and patient physiological data, the operations comprising:
