Abstract

An imaging device includes an imaging unit that images a subject to generate electronic image data; and a communication unit that communicates with a plurality of servers through a network. The imaging device also includes an image file generating unit that generates an image file including first interpretation subject information interpreted by anyone of the plurality of servers.

Claims (15)

1. An image communication system comprising:

an imaging device that images a subject to generate electronic image data; and

a plurality of servers capable of communicating with the imaging device through a network, wherein

the imaging device includes an imaging unit that images a subject to generate electronic image data, an accessory communication unit that performs communication with an accessory to obtain accessory information responsive to a determination that the accessory is mounted to the imaging device, the accessory information including date of manufacture of the accessory,

an image file generating unit that generates an image file including first interpretation subject information interpreted by any one of the plurality of servers, the first interpretation subject information including at least one of the generated image data and a plurality of pieces of metadata associated with the image data and being interpreted by any one of a plurality of servers connected to each other through a network, and

second interpretation subject information which is different from the first interpretation subject information and includes the accessory information and address information having a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of a server capable of interpreting the first interpretation subject information based on the accessory information in the network, and

a first communication unit that transmits the image file to the server with the address information based on the second interpretation subject information, and wherein each of the servers includes a second communication unit that receives the image file transmitted from the first communication unit,

an accessory information storing unit that stores therein information relative to the accessory mounted to the imaging device, and

a control unit that performs a correction on the image data of the image file received by the second communication unit, on the basis of the information relative to the accessory information stored in the accessory information storing unit, to generate a corrected image file.

2. The image communication system according to claim 1 , wherein the accessory includes a strobe and the accessory information includes light distribution information according to a type of the strobe.

3. The image communication system according to claim 1 , wherein the image file is transmitted from the image device to the server with the address information based on the second interpretation subject information when an operation input unit of the imaging device is operated by a user.

4. The image communication system according to claim 1 , wherein the server transmits the corrected image file to the imaging device after the correction on images of the image data on the basis of the accessory information.

5. The image communication system according to claim 4 , wherein the imaging device further includes a display unit that displays the corrected image file received from the server, and a storing unit that stores the corrected image file therein.

6. The image communication system according to claim 5 , wherein the imaging device performs error display on the display unit in a case where the image file is not returned even when predetermined time elapses since the image file has been transmitted to the server.

7. The image communication system according to claim 1 , wherein the imaging device further includes a storing unit that stores therein the image file including the accessory information when the accessory is mounted to the imaging device.
