Polyhydroxy-diamines as multi-functional additives for paints, coatings and epoxies
View Patent ↗Provided are polyhydroxy-diamine compounds of the formula I: or salt thereof, wherein R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 are as defined herein. The compounds are useful as low additives for paints, coatings and epoxy formulations.
1. A compound represented by the formula:
or salt thereof, wherein R 1 and R 2 are independently at each occurrence C 1 -C 6 alkyl; and R 3 is independently at each occurrence H or C 1 -C 6 alkyl.
2. A compound according to claim 1 wherein R 1 at each occurrence is C 1 -C 3 alkyl.
3. A compound according to claim 1 wherein R 2 at each occurrence is C 1 -C 3 alkyl.
4. A compound according to claim 1 wherein R 3 at each occurrence is H.
5. A compound according to claim 1 which is: 2,2′-((2-hydroxytrimethylene)-diimino)bis(2-methyl-1-propanol).
