Abstract

In some embodiments, scripts may be used to perform parcel data acquisition, conversion, and clean-up/repair in an automated manner and/or through graphical user interfaces. The scripts may be used, for example, to repair geometries of new parcel data, convert multi-part parcel geometries to single part parcel geometries (explode), eliminate duplicate parcel geometries, append columns, create feature classes, and append feature classes. These scripts may be executed in a predetermined manner to increase efficiency. In some embodiments, different combinations of attributes may be appended to stored parcel data. In some embodiments, a tracking application may be used to track information about sources of data. In some embodiments, a tracking application may be used to track which system users are assigned to specific tasks (e.g., in a data acquisition project).

Claims (41)

1. A networked computer system comprising:

a physical data storage;

a spatial database architecture in communication with the physical data storage, the spatial database architecture comprising computer hardware, the spatial database architecture programed to:

automatically receive parcel data from a plurality of disparate data sources, wherein the parcel data is in a plurality of disparate data formats;

automatically transform said parcel data to standardized data having a standardized data format;

remove redundant parcel data from the transformed parcel data;

remove, from the transformed parcel data, parcel data of a parcel having a size that is less than a predetermined threshold;

calculate centroid data for the transformed parcel data that has not been removed, the centroid data representing latitude or longitude coordinates corresponding to a spatial centroid of each parcel;

adjusting the spatial centroid associated with each parcel if it is determined that the spatial centroid is not located within a boundary associated with the parcel;

automatically store said standardized data in said standardized data format and the centroid data in the physical data storage; and

perform a search of said stored standardized data based on any of a plurality of search parameters and combinations thereof to generate search results data, wherein the search results data comprise the centroid data associated with any matched parcel data; and

at least one web server operationally interfacing to said physical data storage and being configured to provide access to and real-time interaction with said physical data storage by an end-user.

2. The networked computer system of claim 1 wherein said spatial database architecture is further programmed to export at least a portion of said search results data as selected by said end-user via said at least one web server.

3. The networked computer system of claim 1 wherein said at least one web server is further configured to transform at least a portion of said search results data to map image data.

4. The networked computer system of claim 1 wherein said at least one web server is further configured to direct said end-user towards at least one external web site to access external data associated with said search results data.

5. The networked computer system of claim 4 , wherein said external data includes at least one of county auditor/assessor data and county recorder data.

6. The networked computer system of claim 4 wherein said spatial database architecture is further programmed to analyze and transform at least one of said search results data and said external data to form analysis data.

7. The networked computer system of claim 6 wherein said spatial database architecture is further programmed to export at least a portion of said analysis data as selected by said end-user via said at least one web server.

8. The networked computer system of claim 6 , wherein said analysis data include at least one of tax analysis data.

9. The networked computer system of claim 6 further comprising at least one end-user computer device operationally interfacing to said at least one web server and configured and programmed to receive and display user interface screens, map image data, said search results data, said external data, and said analysis data.

10. The networked computer system of claim 1 wherein said spatial database architecture and said at least one web server are further configured and programmed to direct said end-user towards at least one external web site and to integrate at least a portion of said search results data with data of said at least one external web site.

11. The networked computer system of claim 1 , wherein said plurality of search parameters include at least one of an address, a state, a county, a media format, and a data status.

12. The networked computer system of claim 1 wherein said access to and real-time interaction with said physical data storage is via at least one of a web site hosted on said at least one web server and a web server application supported by said at least one web server.

13. The networked computer system of claim 1 wherein said centroid data is validated by generation of a spatial query.

14. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions which, when executed by a computer system that includes a data processor and is connected to at least one data repository, perform a method comprising:

accessing, by the computer system from the at least one data repository through a communication channel, parcel data from a plurality of disparate data sources, wherein the parcel data is in a plurality of disparate data formats,

automatically transforming, by the data processor of the computer system, said parcel data to standardized data having a standardized data format;

removing redundant parcel data from the transformed parcel data;

removing, from the transformed parcel data, parcel data of a parcel having a size that is less than a predetermined threshold;

calculating, by the data processor of the computer system, centroid data for the transformed parcel data that has not been removed, the centroid data representing latitude or longitude coordinates corresponding to a spatial centroid of each parcel;

adjusting, by the data processor of the computer system, the spatial centroid associated with each parcel if it is determined that the spatial centroid is not located within a boundary associated with the parcel;

automatically storing said standardized data in said standardized data format and the centroid data in the at least one data repository; and

performing, by the data processor of the computer system, a search of said stored standardized data based on any of a plurality of search parameters and combinations thereof to generate search results data, wherein the search results data comprise an address associated with the centroid data associated with any matched parcel data; and

using at least one web server to:

operationally interface with the at least one data repository and being configured to provide access to and real-time interaction with said at least one data repository by an end-user.
