MULTI-MODE MULTI-JURISDICTION SKILL WAGERING INTERLEAVED GAME
Methods and apparatus for a gaming system are provided. The gaming system enables a player to engage in various types of gaming depending on the jurisdiction in which the player is located. For example, depending on the jurisdiction of a player's device, the gaming system may allow the player to wager using real world currency, or virtual currency. If the player's device is located in a jurisdiction that allows gambling using real world currency, the gaming system may allow the player to place wagers using real world currency. Alternatively, if the player's device is located in a jurisdiction that does not allow gambling using real world currency, the gaming system may limit the player to placing wagers using virtual currency.
1 . A networked gaming system comprising:
a player's device connected to a skill wagering interleaved game (SWig) system by a network, wherein the player's device is configured to:
transmit to the SWig system via the network, a request for a gaming session, the request including location information of the player's device;
transmit to the SWig system via the network, a request to conduct a real currency wager; and
the SWig system connected to the player's device by the network, wherein the SWig system is configured to:
instantiate a regulated real world operating system (RC.OS) configured to:
conduct the real currency wager; and
provide a real currency wager outcome of the real currency wager to a regulated game world operating system (GW.OS);
instantiate the regulated GW.OS, wherein the regulated GW.OS is configured to:
receive the request from the player's device via the network to conduct the real currency wager;
instruct the regulated RC.OS to conduct the real currency wager;
receive the real currency wager outcome of the real currency wager from the regulated RC.OS; and
allocate game world resources to the gaming session based on the real currency wager outcome;
receive from the player's device via the network, the request for the gaming session, the request including the location information of the player's device; and
associate the regulated GW.OS with the gaming session based on the location information of the player's device indicating a geographical location of the player's device being in a jurisdiction allowing real currency gaming.
2 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 ,
wherein the player's device is further configured to transmit to the SW.ig system via the network a request to conduct a virtual currency wager, and
wherein the SW.ig system is further configured to:
receive from the player's device via the network the request to conduct the wager in the virtual currency;
instantiate an unregulated GW.OS; and
associate the unregulated GW.OS with the gaming session.
3 . The networked gaming system of claim 2 ,
wherein the SW.ig is further configured to instantiate an unregulated RC.OS configured to:
conduct the virtual currency wager; and
provide a virtual currency wager outcome of the virtual currency wager from the unregulated RC.OS to the unregulated GW.OS, and
wherein the unregulated GW.OS is further configured to:
instruct the unregulated RC.OS to conduct the virtual currency wager;
receive the virtual currency wager outcome from the unregulated RC.OS, and
reallocate the game world resources to the gaming session based on the virtual currency wager outcome.
4 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 , further comprising a patron authorization database connected to the SW.ig system, wherein the SW.ig system is further constructed to store a record of the regulated GW.OS being associated with the gaming session in the patron authorization database.
5 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the regulated GW.OS is further constructed to provide a signal to the player's device comprising a credit amount to be added or subtracted from a wagered amount using at least one of a random number generator or a pay table.
6 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 , wherein SW.ig system is further configured to instantiate an unregulated GW.OS configured to perform the processor-executable instructions further comprise performing the allocating of the game world resources to the gaming session based on the real currency wager outcome.
7 .- 20 . (canceled)
21 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the SW.ig system instantiates the regulated GW.OS on a same processing apparatus as the SW.ig system.
22 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the SW.ig system instantiates the regulated GW.OS on a separate processing apparatus from that of the SW.ig system.
23 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the SW.ig system instantiates the regulated RC.OS on a same processing apparatus as the SW.ig system.
24 . The networked gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the SW.ig system instantiates the regulated RC.OS on a separate processing apparatus from that of the SW.ig system.
