Abstract

An imaging lens substantially consists of, in order from an object side, five lenses of a first lens that has a positive refractive power and is convex toward the object side, a second lens that has a negative refractive power, a third lens, a fourth lens that has a positive refractive power, and a fifth lens that has a negative refractive power and has an object side surface and an image side surface which have aspheric shapes. Further, the imaging lens satisfies predetermined conditional expressions.

Claims (39)

1. An imaging lens consisting of, in order from an object side, five lenses of:

a first lens that has a positive refractive power and is convex toward the object side;

a second lens that has a negative refractive power;

a third lens;

a fourth lens that has a positive refractive power; and

a fifth lens that has a negative refractive power and has an object side surface and an image side surface which have aspheric shapes,

wherein the following conditional expressions (1) to (3) are satisfied:

0 <f/f 45<0.21  (1),

−1.23 <f/f 2<−0.84  (2), and

−0.074 <f/f 3<0.01  (3), where

f is a focal length of a whole system,

f45 is a composite focal length of the fourth and fifth lenses,

f2 is a focal length of the second lens, and

f3 is a focal length of the third lens.

2. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 , wherein the following conditional expression is further satisfied:

0.03 <f/f 45<0.17  (1-1), where

f is the focal length of the whole system, and

f45 is the composite focal length of the fourth and fifth lenses.

3. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 , wherein the following conditional expression is further satisfied:

−0.074 <f/f 3<0  (3-1), where

f is the focal length of the whole system, and

f3 is the focal length of the third lens.

4. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 , wherein the following conditional expression is further satisfied:

0.05 <f/f 45<0.15  (1-2), where

f is the focal length of the whole system, and

f45 is the composite focal length of the fourth and fifth lenses.

5. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 , wherein an intersection point between the image side surface of the third lens and a principal ray with a maximum angle of view is positioned on the object side of an intersection point between the image side surface of the third lens and an optical axis, and an intersection point between an object side surface of the third lens and the principal ray with the maximum angle of view is positioned on the object side of an intersection point between the object side surface of the third lens and the optical axis.

6. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 , wherein the fifth lens has a meniscus shape which is convex toward the object side, and each of the object side surface and the image side surface thereof has an aspheric shape which has at least one extreme point.

7. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 , further comprising an aperture stop that is disposed on the object side of an object side surface of the second lens.

8. An imaging apparatus comprising:

the imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 .

9. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 1 , wherein the following conditional expression is further satisfied:

−1.17 <f/f 2<−0.92  (2-1), where

f is the focal length of the whole system, and

f2 is the focal length of the second lens.

10. The imaging lens, as defined in claim 9 , wherein the following conditional expression is further satisfied:

−1.12 <f/f 2<−1  (2-2), where

f is the focal length of the whole system, and

f2 is the focal length of the second lens.
