Abstract

The disclosed invention is related to methods, compositions, kits and isolated nucleic acid sequences for targeting Adenovirus nucleic acid. Compositions include amplification oligomers and/or detection probe oligomers. Kits and methods comprise at least one of these oligomers.

Claims (21)

1. A composition for use in an Adenovirus target nucleic acid amplification assay comprising

(I) at least three amplification oligomers capable of stably hybridizing to Adenovirus target nucleic acid to generate an amplicon during an amplification reaction, wherein the at least three amplification oligomers are

(a) a first amplification oligomer consisting of a target hybridizing sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:27,

(b) a second amplification oligomer consisting of a target hybridizing sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:28, and

(c) a third amplification oligomer consisting of target hybridizing sequences as set forth in (i) SEQ ID NO:25 and/or SEQ ID NO:26, (ii) SEQ ID NO:33 and/or SEQ ID NO:34, or (iii) SEQ ID NO:31 and/or SEQ ID NO:26; and

(II) at least one labelled detection probe oligonucleotide configured to specifically hybridize to a portion of said amplicon.

2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the at least three amplification oligomers are selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos 25, 26, 27 and 28; SEQ ID Nos 26, 27 and 28; SEQ ID Nos 27, 28, 33 and 34; SEQ ID Nos 26, 27, 28 and 31; and SEQ ID Nos 25, 27 and 28.

3. A reaction mixture for use in an Adenovirus detection assay, wherein the reaction mixture comprises

4. The reaction mixture of claim 3 , further comprising one or more of a polymerase, a fourth amplification oligonucleotide, glycerol, magnesium chloride or a dNTP.

5. The reaction mixture of claim 3 , wherein the at least three amplification oligomer combinations are: amplification oligomers comprising the target hybridizing sequences consisting of SEQ ID Nos 25, 26, 27 and 28, amplification oligomers comprising the target hybridizing sequences consisting of SEQ ID Nos 27, 28, 33 and 34, or amplification oligomers comprising the target hybridizing sequences consisting of SEQ ID Nos 26, 27, 28 and 31.

6. The reaction mixture of claim 3 , wherein the at least one labelled detection probe oligonucleotide comprises a target hybridizing sequences selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos 17 to 24, 29, 30, 36, 37, 39 and 40.

7. The reaction mixture of claim 3 , wherein the at least one labelled detection probe oligonucleotide is two or more labelled detection probe oligonucleotides each comprising a target hybridizing sequences selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos 17 to 24, 29, 30, 36, 37, 39 and 40.

8. The reaction mixture of claim 7 , wherein the at least one labelled detection probe oligonucleotide is two labelled detection probe oligonucleotides comprising for the first labelled detection probe oligonucleotide the target hybridizing sequence consisting of SEQ ID No 36, and comprising for the second labelled detection probe oligonucleotide the target hybridizing sequence consisting of SEQ ID No 37.
