METHOD AND SYSTEM TO PRE-FETCH DATA IN A NETWORK
A system, a computer readable storage medium including instructions, and a computer-implemented method of pre-fetching in a network, are provided. In an example embodiment, computer-implemented method of pre-fetching in a network comprises receiving a request from a user device for a first network-accessible data item in the plurality of network-accessible data items; transmitting the first network-accessible data item to the user device; identifying a second network-accessible data item in the plurality of network-accessible data items; and transmitting the second network-accessible data item to the user device, the second network-accessible data item being transmitted before receiving a request for the second network-accessible data item from the user device. Pre-fetch logic may be embedded in the first network-accessible data item.
1 . A commuter-implemented method of pre-fetching, comprising:
receiving a request from a user device for a first plurality of data elements for processing a first web page;
transmitting the first plurality of data elements to the user device;
retrieving at least one of a second plurality of data elements for processing a second web page in response to the processing of the first web page by the user device; and
transmitting the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in a non-executable format before receiving a request from the user device for one or more of the second plurality of data elements.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting at least some of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in an executable format before receiving the request from the user device for one or more of the second plurality of data elements.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising retrieving a remainder of the second plurality of data elements after receiving the request for one or more of the second plurality of data elements from the user device.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one of the second plurality of data elements in the non-executable format includes one or more data objects, programs and scripts.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device includes downloading the at least one of the second plurality of data elements in an executable format and then transmitting the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in the non-executable format.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first plurality of data elements includes code to retrieve the at least one of the second plurality of data elements for the second web page.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein the code to retrieve at least one of the second plurality of data elements for the second web page is triggered for execution when the first web page is being downloaded by a browser on the user device.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the request for one or more of the second plurality of data elements from the user device includes receiving the request only if the user device determines one or more of the second plurality of data elements from the user device is not stored within the user device.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting the second plurality of data element to the user device includes: analyzing code included in the first plurality of data elements to identify the second plurality of data elements; and transmitting the at least one second plurality of data elements to the user device.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein retrieving at least one of the second plurality of data elements for processing includes: determining the second plurality of data elements for processing the second web page and identifying the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to be downloaded.
11 . A system including hardware modules, comprising:
a receiving module configured to receive a request from a user device for a first plurality of data elements for processing a first web page; and
a transmitting module, implemented using one or more processors, configured to:
transmit the first plurality of data elements to the user device;
retrieve at least one of the second plurality of data elements for processing a second web page in response to the processing of the first web page by the user device; and
transmit the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in a non-executable format before receiving a request from the user device for one or more of the second plurality of data elements.

The system of claim 11 , wherein the transmitting module is configured to transmit at least some of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in an executable format before receiving a request from the user device for one or more of the second plurality of data elements.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the transmitting module is configured to retrieve a remainder of the second plurality of data elements after receiving the request for one or more of the second plurality of data elements from the user device.
14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one of the second plurality of data elements in the non-executable format includes one or more data objects, programs and scripts.
15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the transmitting module is configured to transmit the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device including downloading the at least one of the second plurality of data elements in an executable format and then transmitting the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in a non-executable format.
16 . A computer readable non-transitory storage medium storing at least one program configured for execution by a computer, the at least one program comprising instructions to:
receive a request from a user device for a first plurality of data elements for processing a first web page;
transmit the first plurality of data elements to the user device;
retrieve at least one of the second plurality of data elements for processing a second web page in response to the processing of the first web page by the user device; and
transmit the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in a non-executable format before receiving a request from the user device for one or more of the second plurality of data elements.

The computer readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 16 , further comprising instructions to transmit at least some of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in an executable format before receiving the request from the user device for one or more of the second plurality of data elements.
18 . The computer readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 16 , further comprising instructions to retrieve a remainder of the second plurality of data elements after receiving the request for one or more of the second plurality of data elements from the user device.
19 . The computer readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the at least one of the second plurality of data elements in the non-executable format includes one or more data objects, programs and scripts.
20 . The computer readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 16 , further comprising instructions to transmit the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device including downloading the at least one of the second plurality of data elements in an executable format and then transmitting the at least one of the second plurality of data elements to the user device for storage in a non-executable format.
