Abstract

Techniques for determining a state of a user using wearable devices are described, including receiving motion-related data from a first sensor and user-related data from a second sensor, determining a state of a user as a function of the motion-related data and the user-related data, and displaying a graphic associated with the state of the user at a graphical user interface. The first sensor and the second sensor may be coupled to a wearable device. The user-related data may include galvanic skin response data. The graphic associated with the state of the user may be displayed at a web browser.

Claims (32)

1 . A method, comprising:

receiving motion-related data from a first sensor and user-related data from a second sensor, the first sensor and the second sensor being coupled to a wearable computing device;

determining a state of a user as a function of the motion-related data and the user-related data; and

displaying a graphic associated with the state of the user at a graphical user interface.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining the state of the user is executed by a processor that is remote from the wearable computing device.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining the state of the user is executed using an application that is received from a marketplace.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user-related data comprises galvanic skin response data.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user-related data comprises temperature data.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first sensor comprises an accelerometer.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

storing the state of the user to a database.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

storing the motion-related data and the user-related data in a database.

9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving environmental-related data from a third sensor that is coupled to the wearable computing device; and

determining the state of the user as a function of the motion-related data, the user-related data, and the environmental-related data.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the displaying the graphic associated with the state of the user comprises:

displaying the graphic associated with the state of the user at a web browser.

11 . A system, comprising:

a memory configured to store motion-related data received from a first sensor and user-related data received from a second sensor, the first sensor and the second sensor being coupled to a wearable computing device; and

a processor configured to determine a state of a user as a function of the motion-related data and the user-related data, and to display a graphic associated with the state of the user at a graphical user interface.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is located remotely from the wearable computing device.

13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine the state of the user using an application that is received from a marketplace.

14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the user-related data comprises galvanic skin response data.

15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the first sensor comprises an accelerometer.

16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine a trend as a function of the state of the user.

17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to store the state of the user in a database.

18 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to store the motion-related data and the user-related data in a database.

19 . The system of claim 11 , wherein:

the memory is further configured to receive environmental-related data from a third sensor that is coupled to the wearable computing device; and

the processor is further configured to determine the state of the user as a function of the motion-related data, the user-related data, and the environmental-related data.

20 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to display the graphic associated with the state of the user at a web browser.
