Abstract

A laminated substrate for an organic LED element includes a translucent substrate, a scattering layer including glass and a solid scattering material provided on the translucent substrate and having a thickness of 30 μm or less, and an electrode provided on the scattering layer, and no covering layer including glass is provided between the scattering layer and the electrode.

Claims (25)

1. A laminated substrate, comprising:

a translucent substrate;

a scattering layer, which comprises glass and a solid scattering material, on the translucent substrate and having a thickness of 30 μm or less; and

an electrode on the scattering layer,

wherein no covering layer comprising glass is between the scattering layer and the electrode, and

wherein the glass of the scattering layer comprises, as represented by mol percentage based on the following oxides,

15% to 60% of B 2 O 3 , 20% to 45% of ZnO, 5% to 37% of Bi 2 O 3 , 2 to 14% of SiO 2 , 0 to 15% of Al 2 O 3 , a total of 0 to 20% of alkaline earth metal oxides, comprising substantially no alkali metal oxide, wherein a SiO 2 /Bi 2 O 3 value obtained by dividing SiO 2 -content by Bi 2 O 3 -content is less than 1.1.

2. The laminated substrate as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the solid scattering material is one of silica, alumina, titania, and zirconia.

3. The laminated substrate as claimed in claim 1 ,

wherein an average particle diameter of the solid scattering material is from 100 nm to 900 nm.

4. The laminated substrate as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the solid scattering material is one of silica, alumina, titania, and zirconia.

5. The laminated substrate as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the glass of the scattering layer does not comprise P 2 O 5 .

6. The laminated substrate as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the glass of the scattering layer comprises from 1 to 15 mol % of Al 2 O 3 .

7. The laminated substrate as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the glass of the scattering layer does not comprise any alkali metal oxide.

8. The laminated substrate as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the glass of the scattering layer comprises from 25 to 40 mol % of ZnO.

9. An organic LED element comprising:

a translucent substrate;

a scattering layer, which comprises glass and a solid scattering material, on the translucent substrate and having a thickness of 30 μm or less;

a first electrode on the scattering layer;

an organic layer on the first electrode; and

a second electrode on the organic layer,

wherein no covering layer comprising glass is between the scattering layer and the first electrode, and

wherein the glass of the scattering layer comprises, as represented by mol percentage based on the following oxides,

10. The organic LED element as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the solid scattering material is one of silica, alumina, titania, and zirconia.
