Abstract

Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to create, modify, and maintain profiles associated with users. The user profiles are generated based on selectively collecting data associated with the users. Although each user profile may include settings, preferences, habits, and content associated with an individual user and/or vehicle, some user profiles may represent multiple users. These user profiles can change a configuration of a vehicle to match settings for a user, such as a driver and/or passenger. The configurations may also include the recognition of a unique set of gestures for a user. Further, the user profiles can be transferred from vehicle-to-vehicle and/or user-to-user.

Claims (51)

1 . A method, comprising:

collecting data associated with a user, wherein the collected data is stored in a user profile memory associated with the user;

receiving an input to suspend the collection of data associated with the user;

determining at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data; and

suspending the collection of data based at least partially on the input to suspend the collection of data and the at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

storing the determined at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data in a memory apart from the user profile memory; and

associating the determined at least one condition with a suspension initiation prompt.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

detecting the suspension initiation prompt; and

prompting, based on detecting the suspension initiation prompt, the user with a selectable suspension option, wherein one option of the selectable suspension option includes suspending the collection of data associated with the user.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving an input to reinstate the collection of data associated with the user;

determining at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data; and

reinstating the collection of data based at least partially on the input to reinstate the collection of data and the at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data.

5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising:

storing the determined at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data in a memory apart from the user profile memory; and

associating the determined at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data with a reinstatement initiation prompt.

6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:

detecting the reinstatement initiation prompt; and

prompting, based on detecting the reinstatement initiation prompt, the user with a selectable reinstatement option, wherein one option of the selectable reinstatement option includes reinstating the collection of data associated with the user.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data includes at least one of a geographical location of the user, a geographical location of a vehicle associated with the user, a keyword spoken by the user, a gesture made by the user, and an indication provided by a member of a group in the vehicle.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the input to suspend the collection of data associated with the user is received in response to detecting a change in a personality associated with the user.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein suspending the collection of data suspends the collection of data associated with a first user personality of the user and in response to detecting the change in the personality associated with the user the method further comprises collecting data associated with the user in a second user personality different from the first user personality.

10 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, perform a method comprising:

collecting data associated with a user, wherein the collected data is stored in a user profile memory associated with the user;

receiving an input to suspend the collection of data associated with the user;

determining at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data; and

suspending the collection of data based at least partially on the input to suspend the collection of data and the at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data.

11 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises:

storing the determined at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data in a memory apart from the user profile memory; and

associating the determined at least one condition with a suspension initiation prompt.

12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the method further comprises:

detecting the suspension initiation prompt; and

prompting, based on detecting the suspension initiation prompt, the user with a selectable suspension option, wherein one option of the selectable suspension option includes suspending the collection of data associated with the user.

13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises:

receiving an input to reinstate the collection of data associated with the user;

determining at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data; and

reinstating the collection of data based at least partially on the input to reinstate the collection of data and the at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data.

14 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises:

storing the determined at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data in a memory apart from the user profile memory; and

associating the determined at least one condition associated with the input to reinstate the collection of data with a reinstatement initiation prompt.

15 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the method further comprises:

detecting the reinstatement initiation prompt; and

prompting, based on detecting the reinstatement initiation prompt, the user with a selectable reinstatement option, wherein one option of the selectable reinstatement option includes reinstating the collection of data associated with the user.

16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data includes at least one of a geographical location of the user, a geographical location of a vehicle associated with the user, a keyword spoken by the user, a gesture made by the user, and an indication provided by a member of a group in the vehicle.

17 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the input to suspend the collection of data associated with the user is received in response to detecting a change in a personality associated with the user.

18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein suspending the collection of data suspends the collection of data associated with a first user personality of the user and in response to detecting the change in the personality associated with the user the method further comprises collecting data associated with the user in a second user personality different from the first user personality.

19 . A user profile system, comprising:

a profile identification module contained in a memory and executed by a processor of the user profile system, the profile identification module configured to collect data associated with a user, wherein the collected data is stored in a user profile memory associated with the user, receive an input to suspend the collection of data associated with the user, determine at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data, and suspend the collection of data based at least partially on the input to suspend the collection of data and the at least one condition associated with the input to suspend the collection of data.

20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the input to suspend the collection of data associated with the user is received in response to detecting a change in a personality associated with the user, wherein suspending the collection of data suspends the collection of data associated with a first user personality of the user and in response to detecting the change in the personality associated with the user the method further comprises collecting data associated with the user in a second user personality different from the first user personality.
