STORING USER GESTURES IN A USER PROFILE DATA TEMPLATE
Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to create, modify, and maintain profiles associated with users. The user profiles are generated based on selectively collecting data associated with the users. Although each user profile may include settings, preferences, habits, and content associated with an individual user and/or vehicle, some user profiles may represent multiple users. These user profiles can change a configuration of a vehicle to match settings for a user, such as a driver and/or passenger. The configurations may also include the recognition of a unique set of gestures for a user. Further, the user profiles can be transferred from vehicle-to-vehicle and/or user-to-user.
1 . A method, comprising:
referring to a user profile memory associated with a user for gesture information;
determining that the gesture information includes at least one custom gesture, wherein the at least one custom gesture is associated with a vehicle feature function;
determining whether a capability of a vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function; and
mapping, in response to determining that the capability of the vehicle includes the vehicle feature function, the custom gesture with the vehicle feature function of the vehicle.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
associating the mapped custom gesture with the user of the vehicle; and
storing the mapped custom gesture in the user profile memory.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
recognizing the user of the vehicle via at least one recognition sensor associated with the vehicle;
providing, in response to recognizing the user, access to the stored mapped custom gesture; and
manipulating the vehicle feature function of the vehicle in response to receiving the custom gesture provided by the user inside the vehicle.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining that the capability of the vehicle lacks the vehicle feature function; and
sending a message to the user of the vehicle corresponding to the lack of the vehicle feature function.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining whether the capability of the vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function further comprises:
determining an identification type of the vehicle;
referring to a memory having stored thereon at least one vehicle feature associated with the identification type of the vehicle; and
determining whether a match exists between the vehicle feature function and the at least one vehicle feature.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the identification type includes at least one of a vehicle manufacturer, make, year, and model.
7 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
determining, when the match exists, whether the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with an authorization lock, wherein the authorization lock prevents an unauthorized user from accessing the matched at least one vehicle feature, and wherein the authorization lock grants an authorized user access to the matched at least one vehicle feature.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
determining, when the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with the authorization lock, whether the user is the authorized user.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein determining whether the user is the authorized user, further comprises:
referring to an authorization memory having authorizing information configured to identify at least one authorized user.
10 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the custom gesture is stored in a memory of the vehicle.
11 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, perform a method comprising:
referring to a user profile memory associated with a user for gesture information;
determining that the gesture information includes at least one custom gesture, wherein the at least one custom gesture is associated with a vehicle feature function;
determining whether a capability of a vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function; and
mapping, in response to determining that the capability of the vehicle includes the vehicle feature function, the custom gesture with the vehicle feature function of the vehicle.
12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the method further comprises:
associating the mapped custom gesture with the user of the vehicle; and
storing the mapped custom gesture in the user profile memory.
13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the method further comprises:
recognizing the user of the vehicle via at least one recognition sensor associated with the vehicle;
providing, in response to recognizing the user, access to the stored mapped custom gesture; and
manipulating the vehicle feature function of the vehicle in response to receiving the custom gesture provided by the user inside the vehicle.
14 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the method further comprises:
determining that the capability of the vehicle lacks the vehicle feature function; and
sending a message to the user of the vehicle corresponding to the lack of the vehicle feature function.
15 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein determining whether the capability of the vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function further comprises:
determining an identification type of the vehicle;
referring to a memory having stored thereon at least one vehicle feature associated with the identification type of the vehicle; and
determining whether a match exists between the vehicle feature function and the at least one vehicle feature.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the identification type includes at least one of a vehicle manufacturer, make, year, and model.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises:
determining, when the match exists, whether the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with an authorization lock, wherein the authorization lock prevents an unauthorized user from accessing the matched at least one vehicle feature, and wherein the authorization lock grants an authorized user access to the matched at least one vehicle feature.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprises:
determining, when the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with the authorization lock, whether the user is the authorized user; and
referring to an authorization memory having authorizing information configured to identify at least one authorized user.
19 . A vehicle control system, comprising:
a profile identification module contained in a memory and executed by a processor of the vehicle control system, the profile identification module configured to refer to a user profile memory associated with a user for gesture information, determine that the gesture information includes at least one custom gesture, wherein the at least one custom gesture is associated with a vehicle feature function, determine whether a capability of a vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function, and map, in response to determining that the capability of the vehicle includes the vehicle feature function, the custom gesture with the vehicle feature function of the vehicle.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the profile identification module is further configured to associate the mapped custom gesture with the user of the vehicle, and store the mapped custom gesture in the user profile memory.
