VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
Methods and systems for vehicle diagnostics and roadside assistance are disclosed. Specifically, a method to monitor the health of vehicle systems and subsystems and diagnose detected anomalies is provided. In the event a vehicle anomaly is detected or a vehicle user otherwise requests assistance, the system may take a number of actions. In one embodiment, the actions comprise noticing a maintenance provider, emergency personnel and emitting a visual or audio alarm.
1 . A method, comprising:
receiving sensor data from one or more vehicle sensors;
determining vehicle health state of one or more subsystems of a vehicle;
determining an overall vehicle health status; and
noticing a user if vehicle is unhealthy;
seeking authorization from the user to take action if vehicle is unhealthy; and
taking action regarding the vehicle health status.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising comparing the sensor data to subsystem specification data.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the one or more subsystems of a vehicle is unhealthy if the comparison results in one or more characteristics of subsystem specification data not satisfied.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein if one or more subsystems of a vehicle is unhealthy, the vehicle is unhealthy.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising noticing a third party if the vehicle is in an unhealthy status.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the third party is at least one of an original a maintenance provider, an emergency agency and a user.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the taking action comprises providing an alert.
8 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising diagnosing the unhealthy subsystem.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more vehicle sensors include an odometer, a tachometer, an oil level meter and an image sensor.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving occupant health sensor data for one or more vehicle occupants and determining, from occupant health sensor data for the one or more vehicle occupants, if one or more vehicle occupants are in need of medical attention.
11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising comparing the occupant health sensor data to baseline health threshold data for the one or more vehicle occupants.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the health sensor data senses user parameters comprise body temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, and other vital signs.
13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising taking action if one or more vehicle occupants are in need of medical attention.
14 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, perform a method comprising:
receiving sensor data from one or more vehicle sensors;
determining vehicle health state of one or more subsystems of a vehicle;
determining an overall vehicle health status; and
noticing a user if vehicle is unhealthy;
seeking authorization from the user to take action if vehicle is unhealthy; and
taking action regarding the vehicle health status.
15 . The computer readable medium of claim 14 , further comprising comparing the sensor data to subsystem specification data.
16 . The computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more subsystems of a vehicle is unhealthy if the comparison results in one or more characteristics of subsystem specification data not satisfied.
17 . The computer readable medium of claim 16 , further comprising noticing a third party if the vehicle is in an unhealthy status, wherein if one or more subsystems of a vehicle is unhealthy, the vehicle is unhealthy.
18 . The computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the third party is at least one of an original a maintenance provider, an emergency agency and a user.
19 . A vehicle diagnostics and roadside assistance system comprising a vehicle control system configured to:
receive sensor data from one or more vehicle sensors;
determine vehicle health state of one or more subsystems of a vehicle;
determine an overall vehicle health status; and
notice a user if vehicle is unhealthy;
seek authorization from the user to take action if vehicle is unhealthy; and
take action regarding the vehicle health status.
20 . The system of claim 20 , the vehicle control system further configured to compare the sensor data to subsystem specification data, wherein the one or more subsystems of a vehicle is unhealthy if the comparison results in one or more characteristics of subsystem specification data not satisfied.
