Nasal assembly
View Patent ↗A vent assembly includes at least one vent having a first end configured to face atmosphere and a second end opposite the first end, and a central portion provided between the first and second ends including a substantially cylindrical cross-sectional shape, wherein the second end includes a counter bore.
1. A patient interface for sealed delivery of a flow of breathable gas at a continuously positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to a patient's airways including at least entrance of a patient's nares, while the patient is sleeping, to ameliorate sleep disordered breathing, the patient interface comprising:
a patient contacting portion forming a plenum chamber and adapted to sealingly engage with a patient; and
a vent assembly configured to vent gas from the plenum chamber, the vent assembly including at least one vent having a first end configured to face atmosphere, a second end opposite the first end and configured to face the plenum chamber, and a central portion provided between the first and second ends including a substantially cylindrical cross-ectional shape,
wherein the first end includes a counter bore, the counter bore of the first end comprising a first diameter,
wherein the second end includes a counter bore, the counter bore of the second end comprising a second diameter,
wherein the first diameter is substantially similar to the second diameter, and
wherein the first and second diameters are relatively larger than a diameter of the central portion.
2. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the counter bore of the first end and the counter bore of the second end each includes a depth similar to a depth of the central portion.
3. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the second end is structured to reduce or eliminate noise creating flash from an air path.
4. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the counter bore of the first end includes a depth similar to a depth of the counter bore of the second end.
5. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the patient contacting portion is a nozzle assembly.
6. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the patient contacting portion is a nasal cushion.
7. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the vent assembly includes at least one vent provided on the patient contacting portion.
8. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the vent assembly includes at least one vent provided on a frame that at least in part supports the patient contacting portion.
9. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the vent assembly includes a plurality of vents equally spaced apart from one another.
10. The patient interface according to claim 1 , wherein the vent assembly includes a plurality of vents unequally spaced apart from one another.
