Abstract

Providing information about a monitored environment comprises monitoring a location by a plurality of sensors, collecting data from the plurality of sensors by a processing device, and providing information to a user of the status of the location based on data collected by at least some sensors, for display on a user device, via a network. A user may be enabled to scroll through updates in the order that the information was provided, on the user device, by an App, for example. Providing video clips from a location to a user device comprises storing first video clips related to respective events at the location that the user has been informed of and/or receiving a request to provide stored video clips of the location over a time period, from the user, retrieving the stored video clips, and providing the retrieved video clips to a user device for display.

Claims (68)

1 . A method of providing information about a monitored environment, comprising:

monitoring a location by a plurality of sensors;

collecting data from the plurality of sensors by a processing device; and

providing information to a user of the status of the location based on data collected by at least some of the plurality of sensors via a network by the processing device, for display on a user device, via a network.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein respective information is provided if criteria with respect to data collected from at least one of the plurality of sensors is met.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein at least certain criteria comprise exceeding a threshold and/or deviating from a pattern of the data collected by one or more of the plurality of sensors over a time period.

4 . The method of claim 2 , comprising:

determining that criteria for at least one of the sensors is met; and

providing the information based, at least in part, or at least one sensor collecting data exceeding a respective threshold, and at least one sensor collecting data not meeting a respective criterion.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein one of the sensors comprises a camera and another one of the sensors comprises a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, a motion sensor, an air quality sensor, and/or an accelerometer, the method comprising:

determining that data collected from at least one of the temperature sensor, humidity sensor, motion sensor, air quality sensor, and/or accelerometer, meets a respective criteria;

providing information related to the met criteria; and

providing video from data collected by the camera at a time the data meeting the criteria is collected.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the information includes data exceeding a respective criteria.

7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

receiving a response from the user to the information based, at least in part, on the data meeting the criteria and the data not meeting the criteria; and

providing subsequent information based, at least in part, on the response.

8 . The method of claim 2 , comprising displaying on a user device provided information.

9 . The method of claim 8 , comprising enabling a user to scroll through the information in the order that the information was provided.

10 . The method of claim 8 , comprising:

providing information to the user based on data collected by a plurality of monitoring devices in the location;

enabling the user to scroll through information provided based on data collected from at least some of the plurality of devices, in the order the information was provided; or

enabling the user to toggle between information provided based on data collected from at least some of the plurality of each devices.

11 . The method of claim 8 , comprising:

providing information to the user based on data collected by a plurality of monitoring devices in a plurality of different locations associated with the user; and

enabling the user to scroll through the information from particular devices, in the order the information was provided.

12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein at least some of the information includes a geo-location of the user.

13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising enabling a user to scroll through information in the order the information was provided, over the course of at least one day.

14 . The method of claim 1 , comprising monitoring the location by a plurality of sensors within a single device.

15 . A system for providing information about a monitored environment, comprising;

a processing device; and

memory;

wherein the processing device is configured to:

receive data collected by sensors in a location; and

provide information to a user of the status of the location, based, at least in part, on data collected by at least one of the plurality of sensors, via a network.

16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein respective updates are provided if criteria with respect to data collected from at least one of the plurality of sensors is met.

17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein meeting at least certain criteria comprise exceeding a threshold and/or deviating from a normal pattern.

18 . The system of claim 16 , comprising:

determining that criteria for at least one of the sensor is met; and

providing in the update information related to a plurality of sensors, including at least one sensor whose criteria is not met.

19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein one of the sensors comprises a camera and another one of the sensors comprises a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, a motion sensor, an air quality sensor, and/or an accelerometer, and the processing device is configured to:

determine whether that criteria from at least one of the temperature sensor, humidity sensor, motion sensor, air quality sensor, and/or accelerometer is met; and

provide information related to the exceeded criteria, the update including video from data collected by the camera.

20 . The system of claim 19 , where the information includes data exceeding a respective criteria.

21 . The system of claim 20 , wherein the processing device is further configured to:

receive a response from the user to the update based, at least in part, on the data meeting the criteria and the data not meeting the criteria; and

provide subsequent information based, at least in part, on the response.

22 . The system of claim 16 , further comprising a user device configured to display information provided at multiple times.

23 . The system of claim 22 , wherein the user device is configured to enable a user to scroll through updates in the order that the information was provided.

24 . The system of claim 23 , wherein the processing device is configured to:

provide information to the user based on data collected by a plurality of monitoring devices in the location; and

the user device is configured to enable the user to scroll through information from the plurality of devices, in the order the information was provided.

25 . The system of claim 22 , wherein the processing device is configured to:

provide information to the user based on data collected by a plurality of monitoring devices in a plurality of different locations associated with the user; and

the user device is configured to enable the user to scroll through the information from particular devices, in the order the information was provided.

26 . The system of claim 22 , wherein at least some of the information includes a geo-location of the user.

27 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the user device is configured to enable a user to scroll through information in the order the information was provided.
