Abstract

A head-worn computer including a see-through display includes a positional sensor system adapted to provide position feedback indicative of an alignment of the see-through display with a forward facing view through a windshield of a vehicle, a communication system adapted to connect the head-worn computer with a vehicle warning system, and a processor adapted to cause the head-worn computer to produce tactile feedback when the positional sensor system indicates that the see-through display is not aligned with the forward facing view and the vehicle warning system produces a warning signal.

Claims (37)

1 . A, head-worn system including a see-through display, comprising:

a. a positional sensor system adapted to provide position feedback indicative of an alignment of the see-through display with a forward facing view through a windshield of a vehicle;

b. a communication system adapted to connect the head-worn computer with a vehicle warning system; and

c. at least one processor adapted to cause the head-worn computer to produce tactile feedback when:

i. the positional sensor system indicates that the see-through display is not aligned with the forward facing view; and

ii. the vehicle warning system produces a warning signal.

2 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , further comprising:

an eye imaging system,

wherein the eye imaging system detects a position of a user's eye and provides feedback indicative of an alignment of the eye with the forward facing view through the windshield of the vehicle, and

wherein the at least one processor is further adapted to produce the tactile feedback when the eye imaging system indicates that the eye is not aligned with the forward facing view.

3 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , fin her comprising:

an eye imaging system,

wherein the eye imaging system detects a period of time that an eye lid of the eye is closed, and

wherein the at least one processor is further adapted to produce the tactile feedback when the eye imaging system indicates that the eye lid is closed for an extended period of time.

4 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a vibration motor in a temple of the head-worn computer.

5 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a vibration motor in an ear horn of the head-worn computer.

6 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a vibration motor in a front mount of the head-worn computer.

7 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a multi-mode vibration system.

8 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a piezo electric system.

9 . A head-worn system including a see-through display, comprising:

a positional sensor system adapted to provide position feedback indicative of an alignment of the see-through display with a forward facing view through a windshield of a vehicle; and

at least one processor adapted to cause the head-worn computer to produce tactile feedback when:

the positional sensor system indicates that the see-through display is not aligned with the forward facing view; and

a warning system produces a warning signal.

10 . The head-worn system of claim 1 , further comprising:

an eye imaging system,

wherein the eye imaging system detects a position of a user's eye and provides feedback indicative of an alignment of the eye with the forward facing view through the windshield of the vehicle; and

wherein the at least one processor is further adapted to produce the tactile feedback when the eye imaging system indicates that the eye is not aligned with the forward facing view.

11 . The head-worn system of claim 10 , further comprising:

an eye imaging system,

wherein the eye imaging system detects a period of time that an eye lid of the eye is closed; and

wherein the at least one processor is further adapted to produce the tactile feedback when the eye imaging system indicates that the eye is closed for an extended period of time.

12 . The head-worn system of claim 10 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a vibration motor in a temple of the head-worn computer.

13 . The head-worn system of claim 10 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a vibration motor in an ear horn of the head-worn computer.

14 . The head-worn system of claim 10 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a vibration motor in a front mount of the head-worn computer.

15 . The head-worn system of claim 10 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a multi-mode vibration system.

16 . The head-worn system of claim 10 , wherein the tactile feedback is provided by a piezo electric system.
