Breathing mask for feeding a breathing gas to a mask user and discharge device for discharging breathing gas
View Patent ↗Breathing mask for supplying a breathing gas to a user of a mask includes a sealing lip to seal a mask support zone, a mask base body to form a mask interior chamber and a connector to connect at least one breathing gas line. The mask base body and/or the connector is provided with at least one de-coupling structure formed of an elastomer material. The de-coupling structure allows a relative movement between a mask body-sided circumferential foot portion of the sealing lip and the breathing gas line in at a tilt angle of at least 5°.
1. A discharge device for discharging breathing gas from a breathing mask, the discharge device comprising:
a mask end adapted to be provided to the breathing mask;
a gas line connection end adapted to connect to a breathing gas line that delivers breathing gas to the breathing mask; and
a de-coupling structure between the mask end and the gas line connection end structured and arranged to allow relative movement between the mask end and the gas line connection end,
wherein the de-coupling structure includes at least one through opening for discharging breathing gas to atmosphere.
2. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the at least one through opening is arranged in a manner adapted to allow a discharge of the breathing gas to take place in an area arranged above a patient's eyebrow.
3. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the at least one through opening of the de-coupling structure includes a plurality of through openings.
4. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the at least one through opening is provided in a wall of a fold collar substantially extending in a radial direction with respect to a longitudinal axis of the discharge device.
5. The discharge device as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the at least one through opening has a cross sectional area in the range of 0.8 to 4 mm 2 , and the at least one through opening is arranged such that a discharge direction of discharged gas is substantially normal with respect to the wall of the fold collar.
6. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the de-coupling structure includes one or more web sections structured and arranged to restrict folding or bending of the de-coupling structure.
7. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the de-coupling structure comprises a hinge structure.
8. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the de-coupling structure includes a plurality of circumferential folds, and at least one through opening is provided in a wall of two successive circumferential folds.
9. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the at least one through opening is arranged in a manner adapted to allow discharge to take place along an outer surface of the breathing gas line.
10. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the discharge device comprises a separate component adapted to connect to the breathing mask.
11. A breathing mask for supplying a breathing gas to a patient, the breathing mask comprising:
a sealing lip adapted to engage a patient's face,
a mask base body forming a mask interior chamber; and
the discharge device as claimed in claim 1 .
12. The breathing mask as claimed in claim 11 , further comprising a forehead rest including forehead padding.
13. The breathing mask as claimed in claim 11 , further comprising a coupling device adapted for attachment of a head band.
14. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the discharge device comprises an elastomeric material.
15. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the de-coupling structure comprises a circumferential wall structured and arranged to restrict a breathing gas passage path extending between the mask end and the gas line connection end.
16. The discharge device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the de-coupling structure comprises a bellows arrangement including at least first and second fold collars.
17. The discharge device as claimed in claim 16 , wherein each of the at least first and second fold collars includes two circumferential walls extending in a generally radial direction.
18. The discharge device as claimed in claim 17 , wherein the at least one through opening is provided to at least one of the circumferential walls.
19. The discharge device as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the at least one through opening is arranged such that discharge gas does not directly collide with adjacent circumferential walls.
20. The discharge device as claimed in claim 18 , further comprising one or more webs provided to at least one of the circumferential walls to direct discharge gas to the at least one through opening.
