Abstract

Image display device having an electrode forming layer which includes a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of drain lines, a plurality of switching elements and the a plurality of pixel electrodes, and having reference electrode layer between the electrode forming layer and a substrate where the electrode forming layer formed thereon, and the reference electrode layer and the electrode forming layer are insulated by insulating layer.

Claims (10)

1. A liquid crystal display device comprising: a first substrate; a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer, disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, and containing liquid crystal molecules; a gate line; a drain line; a first insulation layer formed above the gate line; a pixel electrode; and a switching element, connected to the gate line, including a first electrode connected to the drain line and a second electrode connected to the pixel electrode, wherein the drain line, the pixel electrode and the second electrode are formed on the same layer and wherein the pixel electrode overlaps the second electrode; wherein the drain line, the pixel electrode, and the second electrode are formed on the first insulation layer.

2. The liquid crystal display device of claim 1 , further comprising:

a counter electrode which supplies reference voltage,

wherein the counter electrode and the pixel electrode generate electric fields to change an orientation direction of the liquid crystal molecules.

3. The liquid crystal display device of claim 2 , wherein the counter electrode overlaps the pixel electrode in a plan view.

4. The liquid crystal display device of claim 1 , wherein the pixel electrode is connected on an upper face of the second electrode.

5. The liquid crystal display device of claim 1 , further comprising:

a second insulation layer which is disposed below the first insulation layer.

6. The liquid crystal display device of claim 5 , wherein the gate line is disposed below the second insulation layer.

7. The liquid crystal display device of claim 1 , wherein the pixel electrode is formed with a slit which is not parallel with at least one of the gate line and the drain line.
