Composition useful for the prevention or reduction of the progression of prostate cancer
View Patent ↗It is described a composition comprising as active ingredients green tea extract and pomegranate extract for the prevention or reduction of the progression of prostate cancer.
1. A method for inhibiting or reducing the incidence and/or progression of prostate cancer in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an effective amount of a composition comprising a) a synergistic combination of green tea extract and pomegranate extract and b) from 0.03 to 30.0 mg lycopene; from 8.2 to 500 μg selenium; from 1 to 200 m zinc; from 10 to 400 m Serenoa repens extract; from 10 to 500 mg soya isoflavonoids; and from 50 to 500 mg L-carnitine to the subject.
2. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising administering coenzymes, mineral substances, antioxidants, and vitamins to the subject.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises:
from 25 to 800 mg green tea extract; and
from 25 to 800 mg pomegranate extract.
4. The method according to claim 1 wherein the composition comprises:
250 mg green tea extract;
250 mg pomegranate extract;
1.25 mg lycopene;
82.5 μg selenium; and
20 mg zinc.
5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises:
125 mg green tea extract;
125 mg pomegranate extract;
5 mg lycopene;
82.5 μg selenium;
20 mg zinc;
160 mg Serenoa repens extract; and
100 mg soya isoflavonoids.
6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises
125 mg green tea extract;
40 mg pomegranate extract;
5 mg lycopene;
55 μg selenium;
20 mg zinc;
320 mg Serenoa repens extract; and
100 mg soya isoflavonoids.
7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises:
125 mg green tea extract;
125 mg pomegranate extract;
5 mg lycopene;
82.5 μg selenium;
20 mg zinc;
160 mg Serenoa repens extract;
100 mg soya isoflavonoids; and
200 mg L-carnitine.
8. A method for inhibiting the proliferation of prostate cancer cells in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an effective amount of a composition comprising a) a synergistic combination of green tea extract and pomegranate extract and b) from 0.03 to 30.0 mg lycopene; from 8.2 to 500 μg selenium; from 1 to 200 mg zinc; from 10 to 400 mg Serenoa repens extract; from 10 to 500 mg soya isoflavonoids; and from 50 to 500 mg L-carnitine to the subject.
9. A method of inhibiting the progression of prostate cancer in a subject, comprising administering a composition comprising a) a synergistic combination of green tea extract and pomegranate extract, wherein the amount green tea extract is from 25 to 800 mg and the amount of pomegranate extract is from 25 to 800 mg, and b) from 0.03 to 30.0 mg lycopene; from 8.2 to 500 μg selenium; from 1 to 200 mg zinc; from 10 to 400 mg Serenoa repens extract; from 10 to 500 mg soya isoflavonoids; and from 50 to 500 mg L-carnitine to a subject in need thereof.
