Laminated polymicroporous membrane including propylene copolymer and method of producing the same
Disclosed is a laminated separator including a first polyolefin microporous layer and a second polyolefin microporous layer which is laminated on the first polyolefin microporous layer and which is different from the first polyolefin microporous layer, wherein at least one of the first microporous layer and the second microporous layer includes an inorganic particle having a primary particle size of 1 nm or more and 80 nm or less.
1. A laminated polyolefin microporous membrane comprising
a two-type three-layer structure in which first polyolefin microporous layers are surface layers and a second polyolefin microporous layer is an intermediate layer,
wherein each of the first polyolefin microporous layers comprises a polyolefin microporous membrane comprising (i) 20 to 95% by mass of a polypropylene-based resin which has a mass ratio of polypropylene to propylene copolymer being 0 or more and 9 or less, and (ii) 5 to 80% by mass of an inorganic filler,
the second polyolefin microporous layer comprises another polyolefin microporous membrane which is different from the polyolefin microporous membrane,
a melting point of the propylene copolymer is 110° C. to 150° C.,
a mass ratio of the propylene copolymer to the inorganic filler is 0.1 or more and 1.5 or less, and
a content of ethylene and α-olefin, which are contained as comonomers of the propylene copolymer, in the propylene copolymer is more than 1% by mass and is 20% by mass or less.
2. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the propylene copolymer is a random propylene copolymer.
3. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the propylene copolymer is an ethylene-propylene random copolymer.
4. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the mass ratio of the polypropylene to the propylene copolymer is 5 or more and 9 or less.
5. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the amount of the inorganic filler is 40 to 80% by mass.
6. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the second polyolefin microporous layer comprises 5 to 20% by mass of polypropylene.
7. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the content of ethylene and α-olefin, which are contained as co-monomers of the propylene copolymer, in the propylene copolymer is 2% by mass or more and 18% by mass or less.
8. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 ,
wherein an air permeability of the laminated polyolefin microporous membrane is 10 s/100 cc or more and 180 s/100 cc or less.
9. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the inorganic filler comprises at least one of alumina and silica.
10. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the inorganic filler comprises silica.
11. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the inorganic filler has a plasticizer oil absorption amount of 150 ml/100 g or more and 1000 ml/100 g or less.
12. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the inorganic filler has an average particle size of 1 nm or more and 100 nm or less.
13. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , wherein the inorganic filler has an average particle size of 15 nm or more and 100 nm or less.
14. A method of producing the laminated polyolefin microporous membrane according to claim 1 , the method comprising:
(1) a kneading step of forming a kneaded mixture by kneading a polypropylene-based resin composition comprising 20 to 95% by mass of the polypropylene-based resin and 5 to 80% by mass of the inorganic filler, and a plasticizer;
(2) a sheet molding step, following the kneading step, of processing the kneaded mixture into a sheet-like molded body by extruding the kneaded mixture into a sheet shape and by cooling and solidifying a sheet-shaped product;
(3) a stretching step, following the molding step, of forming a stretched product by biaxially stretching the sheet-like molded body with an area magnification of 20× or more and 200× or less;
(4) a porous body forming step, following the stretching step, of forming a porous body by extracting the plasticizer from the stretched product;
(5) a heat treatment step, following the porous body forming step, of heat treating the porous body at a temperature equal to or lower than a melting point of the polypropylene-based resin and widthwise stretching the porous body to produce a polyolefin microporous membrane; and
(6) a laminating step of laminating at least one side of the polyolefin microporous membrane.
15. The method according to claim 14 , wherein a heat of fusion of the propylene copolymer is 60 J/g or more.
